George Hirst to Manchester United?

Recommended Posts

Sheffield Wednesday boss Jos Luhukay believes George Hirst could join Manchester United in the summer.

Hirst, 19, the son of former Sheffield Wednesday player David, has not played first-team football at Hillsborough this season after refusing to sign a new deal. Hirst's contract expires at the end of the season and United have been linked with him.

Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, Luhukay admitted it would be "difficult" for the England U21 striker to turn down a club of United's stature.

not played football cos he can't agree a deal?

Already a prima donna at 19 years old. Annoys me, that.

Agreed. You look at how playing in The Championship in a comfortable environment has benefited so many players in recent years from Clyne & Lallana to the likes of Ryan Sessegnon. You really have to question his decision making.

would also be interesting to know why Luhukay has singled out Utd, as well? Has he been scouted or has his agent been touting him out, or both? Wonder what price Wednesday would command, too...
