Probably the most difficult result to take yesterday conceding with the last kick of the game. Had we held on for just a few more seconds then we'd have gone 7 points clear of Shrewsbury and 2 ahead of Wigan (albeit they would have both had a game in hand). It's been a difficult week with a lot of travel (Gillingham away Tues and Bristol away yesterday). Hopefully the players rest up and focus on Peterborough at home this Thursday - we simply HAVE to win.

Charlton beating Shrewsbury last night will only be a good result if we take advantage at home to Peterborough tomorrow night. We need to step it up and play with more intensity than the last 2 away games. We looked tired which is no surprise given the travel of last week being away to Gillingham then away to Bristol. 7 points from out last 4 games will do with our superior goal difference and while winning the league would be lovely, all that really matters is we get an automatic promotion spot as the play offs are a lottery!

That is a class stat.

Sunderland really are a mess. Although, the person at Sky responsible for allocating their televised League One games next season will be beside themselves with joy.

Weird fanbase as well. Not one protest, nothing. It’s quite bizarre really. From the outside looking in, it’s like they’re not arsed about Ellis Short, who is, ultimately, the cause of all this.

Dont think a protest would do much. The owner already desperately wants to sell IIRC

It would only get column inches in newspapers and a fair amount of media coverage for their plight whilst also damaging Ellis Short's reputation, which, you'd hope if you were a Sunderland fan, would make him more likely to listen to interested parties, because Short's already turned a couple down.

Love my club right now! Last night I went through every emotion possible from nerves at kick off to despair and anger in the first half to pure joy by the end of the game! It was a massive 3 points in our season and all credit to the management and players who turned things around in the second half. Dack was poor first half and was marked out of the game, but second half he found some space and his quality came through with 2 key goals. Graham was also immense and never gave up against an experienced centre half in Taylor who is much bigger and stronger than he is. You could see how much it meant to the players at the end of the game, and I'm so pleased the majority stuck around last summer and made it their mission to get this club back up to a level where it belongs.

Bring on Doncaster next Tuesday!!
