John Henry is on the board at this hospital and has donated millions of dollars to it hahaha. Just a coincidence I’m sure Karius was just having his holiday in Boston.

The internet and social media is amazing. In years gone by this kind of shit wouldve been missed

We should sign Adebayo Akinfenwa in case we play them again any time soon. Obviously not for his footballing skill, but because he's fucking huge and it would be fantastic to see him beat seven shades of shit out Ramos.

ramos is the scum of all scums in world football.    i wonder what he thinks of himself upon reviewing all the play acting he has done ( big note, Juventus Ucl finals last year ) and all his antics of injuring other players .......

hope he gets butt-facked by the Russian Ultras this coming World Cup

We send all of our injured players there... Sturridge and Henderson had long term treatment there.

It might be. But Massachusetts General is one of the best hospitals in the world and I think if it were ever unveiled that they lied about the medical report just to appease some football fans, that would be a pretty major ethical situation for a hospital with a good reputation to deal with. Not sure they'd want to risk that.

It's possible I suppose, but I doubt it. Too much for an American hospital with a great reputation to tarnish when the vast majority of Americans don't particularly give a shit about football at all. The risk isn't worth the reward.

Mass Gen is indeed one of the best hospitals in the world. Was ranked #1 in the USA a couple years ago. Am originally from the Boston area and still have family there.

There's no reason whatsoever they would fabricate any of this. The reason why Karius went there is because of the club's ties to the Boston owners.

What about for simple injuriesnlike concussion, you send players half way around the world?!

Best hospital in the world or not this isn’t an ACL injury, it’s concussion.

I don't see whay motivation there is too lie. It's not a big story that he had concussion barely anybody even knows about it

Headline news here, it’s been leaked to the press to make sure of it.

the motivation is to protect a Karius and protect Henry’s investment.

All of this sounds to me like Liverpool protecting their investment. The whole thing is ridiculous and actually speaks badly of the technical team if true.  I don't believe any of it, too far fetched.

Say you check out your player and find he did have a concussion, do you just sit on that and say nothing? Or do you try to help boost his reputation?

that's also feasible.     but on the other side of the coin, no entity ( individual or corporation or group ) will waste their money to dispute or disprove this medical report, thus this Mas General has confidence to put up this diagnosis.

death in football ( outside of the grounds ) due to a mistake in the pitch has happened before, who was that south american ??    escobar ??   made a costly blunder in the game and a few days later was shot ............   maybe, just maybe Karius is receiving death threats on him and to his family, that's why Liverpool and it's Board opted to do this "stunt" to protect him.    - conspiracy theory again, sorry :P  :P

and also, across the atlantic, in the 1990s, Michael Jordan's father was kidnapped and killed within the Finals duration.  Many had say that it's from a betting mafia ....

At the time of impact he must’ve known things were very wrong with a concussion. Then you substitute him and send him straight away to the hospital without any other option.

This is all too opportunistic and I can get why it’s been done due to all the ridiculous things that have been happening to him since his terrible performance.

He wasn't kidnapped though. He was shot to death while sleeping in his car. After his murder was body was moved to a swamp since the shooters realized that they had in fact killed Jordan's Dad, but have since been tried and convicted.

Concussions are serious injuries...

I don't think you'd find a good hospital and a good doctor willing to risk their reputation to make some football fans happy.

Also if Karius has CTE, I imagine any buying club would figure out in medicals. So the news of a concussion might indicate he's damaged goods. You're more likely to get concussed again if you've got one.

Looks like you're talking a load of shit tbh.

It’s a serious injury but it’s not a complex injury that requires you to be sent to the best hospital in the world, 10 days after the injury and also fly across the world to visit the hospital. I doubt a medical professional would advise flying to America to be diagnosed for concussion, going to the nearest hospital would probably be the best idea... actually Liverpool has the Walton centre (as I’m sure you know being a Liverpool supporter, I guess you regularly go to Liverpool). The Walton centre specialises in neurogoly , I believe. It’d also be remarkable that the Liverpool medical team weren’t able to diagnose concussion.

All seems very strange to me. Why wait? Why fly to America?

The doctor is keeping Henry happy

I agree concussion needs to be taken seriously in sport and in a perfect world a doctor should analyse anyone that receives a head injury, but it’s difficult with players often feigning injury.

Protecting investment and the player because him and his family were sent disgusting messages and threats by Liverpool supporters

I've had concussions before and I didn't realise straight away. Not all of them are 'seeing double'. Concussions are serious business, they should never be underestimated

I know and so have I mate... The worst one was jumping over a turnstile at Arsenal (they used to have short ones in the early 80s and I put my foot on the top of it with my jump and tried to propel myself forward... The turnstile swung back with my impulse and I done a 180 degrees and landed plain on top of my head! xD. I had a massive concussion on that one though and I was all over the place... But I've had others where I wasn't too bad.

Still... This is top end athleticism and everyone including the players are in the know and up on everything. This just seems to weird for me as this wasn't even a run of the mill league game.  This was the biggest club game on the planet.

i feel sorry for Karius if this were true but if this is indeed the truth then he's a bigger piece of shit than before we knew about this concussion.     If he had blackouts episodes within the game, he should have went to Klopp and asked to be subsituted, there's no shame in bowing out of an important game due to injury.   but instead, he chose to be a dick and be selfish by playing the entire game knowing he has blackouts every now and then ......

You do know that when you have a concussion, you're not quite there anymore, right? And take adrenaline into consideration too. It's not like you're "okaaaay, I've got a concussion you guyyyys. Time to leave, byeeee".
