Manuel Neuer Expected to Miss World Cup

Recommended Posts

Manuel Neuer's participation at the World Cup is in major doubt after Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes said he is unlikely to play again this season.

Germany's No 1 Neuer has not played since September after suffering a recurrence of a metatarsal fracture.

He has been back in training with Bayern, but Heynckes has told kicker that he won't play in the final Bundesliga game of the season on Saturday against Stuttgart - although he left the door open for Neuer to play some part in the German Cup final against Eintracht Frankfurt on May 19.

Who will captain? Muller? Khedira? Hummels?

Gotta be honest. Marc Andre reminds me of Peter Andre

Which again proves that too much football is being played even for top athletes

It doesn't matter if Ter Stegen got a good season at Barça.

On form, Neuer is one of the two best GK's in the World, so if he's not there Germany will definitely be weaker.

Neuer played for Germany's U20 against our A team.

The U20 team lost 2-0, however a couple of days earlier they lost 7-1 without Neuer's help.

Neuer also played for the A team in that 7-1 match for about half an hour.

I think he'll be going as a #1... he's apparently set to start against Austria on Saturday, and if he doesn't somehow fuck up badly, he'll surely be #1. Ter Stegen must feel properly screwed.

Just now, Cannabis said:

If I were ter Stegen I'd be feeding Manuel dodgy lasagne.

Should go for coca tea instead, it's proven to work!

Ter Stegen deserves that first team spot. In this regard alone Germany remind me of Del Bosque’s final moments as Spain head coach.
