The Sevilla derby was a very good game and both clubs have now secured their position in Europe next season after the draw. Joaquin might now be in his mid 30s, but he's still a quality player and showed it again tonight. He has managed to play 34 games this season for Real Betis and been very important in getting them into the Europa league.

As for Real Madrid, they look in top condition tonight against Celta going into the final. Bale has been on fire lately and Liverpool will have to watch out for him.

That was Bale at his best tonight. The one from Spurs @Storts

Yeah - he’s still so talented, the criticism frustrates me, because he steps up so often when Ronaldo is out. His record this season when not injured has been excellent again.

That second goal was vintage Bale

Bale's problem has always been injuries. He's had it difficult, especially since moving to Spain. But whenever fit, his goals scoring record is always up there with the best and he's a constant threat.

If Real were to buy someone like Neymar, then it's Benzema who should get the boot. With Ronaldo thriving as a target man, having Bale and Neymar next to him would be too much. Hopefully Neymar doesn't go there though xD

We can all have our views and opinions but in Spain (the Madrid based media) don't really rate Gareth Bale that highly mate.  It goes beyond the injuries and that's a whole different discussion we can have on whether or not that has much to do with the football discussion where Bale is concerned.

The press make headlines when he scores very good goals (like yesterday's to use the most recent example) or important goals like in the Copa del Rey Final against Barcelona some years back or in the first of the two Champions League Finals against Atlético Madrid.

But scoring goals isn't exactly why Bale was signed by Real Madrid. Where Bale gets criticised is on his football and what he offers the team.  It's kind of unfair because to be honest that's always been Bale's style of football, physical prowess, power and a string accurate shot.  There is no technical ability and it's very monotone... This isn't my opinion (although I totally agree with it), it's how he is seen in Spain by pundits and the sports press.

He has undoubted ability in certain areas but lacks a lot in others.  Let's not kid ourselves just because he's scored a few goals in two weeks.

Also, I want to add this final thing... Gareth Bale was bought to finally take over Cristiano Ronaldo.  That's the question and that's the debate we can have on Bale where Real Madrid are concerned.

Messi not in the squad tonight. Know why?

The World Cup as far as the local press are concerned. It's all done now and no point in risking anything occurring in a dodgy tackle. He will be playing the final game at home against La Real to say goodbye to Iniesta though.

His European Golden shoe seems to have been wrapped up as well, so a rest is probably wise. On the subject of his golden shoe, it'll be a record 5th.

Also a chance for Dembele to continue showing what he's about.

5th European Golden Boot for someone that isn’t even 9. Not bad, is it! ;)

What could have been a legendary and historic league title win is now just a regular title win that will always be overshadowed by Real's Champions league win(just like the domestic double of 2 seasons ago), an embarrassing loss against Roma and an absolute hammering against Levante to end what could have been an historic league title win.
