CaaC (John) 4,960
Quote Maracana stadium to be named after Brazil legend Pele Brazil's iconic Maracana stadium is to be named in honour of the country's legendary footballer Pele. The move follows a vote by the Rio de Janeiro state legislature to change the venue's name to the Edson Arantes do Nascimento - Rei Pele stadium. Edson Arantes do Nascimento is the 80-year-old's full name, while Rei means king in Portuguese. The Rio de Janeiro's state governor must approve the name change before it becomes official. Pele, who won three World Cups as a player for Brazil, scored his 1,000th goal at the stadium in 1969 when playing for Santos against Vasco da Gama. The Maracana held the 1950 and 2014 World Cup finals, as well as the opening ceremony of the 2016 Olympics. More than 200,000 spectators are reported to have been in the stadium to watch Uruguay beat Brazil in the 1950 final, although its capacity is now 78,838. It was named after Mario Filho, a journalist who lobbied for its construction in the 1940s, but was known as the Maracana after the area in which it is located https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56343750
Mpache 669
I think that's an awesome gesture. Also glad he's alive to see it. Though perhaps it would have been better to name that to a Paulista stadium rather than a Carioca one.
El Profesor 1,445
Rafael Santos Borré is going to play for Grêmio, according to TyC Sports. Lazio had some interest but Grêmio´s offer was just too good. Grêmio is trying to build a stronger to compete with Palmeiras and Flamengo. They also want to bring back Douglas Costa. El Profesor 1,445
Atlético Mineiro signed Diego Costa to pair up with Hulk in the attack. Flamengo signed Andreas Pereira, Kenedy and will make an effort to sign David Luiz and Thiago Mendes. Dudu has returned to Palmeiras after a loan in Qatar Not a bad window for the 3 strongest clubs in brazilian football.

Tar-Mairon 87
A hefty sentence in jail and a permanent ban from any kind of football with recall to jail if he so much as goes beyond a kickaround in his garden. Definitely attempted murder with the sheer force he kicked him in the head. Total scumbag.

He won't stay at Palmeiras for long. Real, Barça Man City, Man United and Liverpool are said to be interested. After seeing Neymar picking Barcelona, Florentino is determined not to lose the next great player from Brazil. He hit two home-runs with Rodrygo and Vinícius but it seems so far that he completely whiffed on Reinier. Hopefully Endrick will be another case of success.
Carnivore Chris 2,488
Great start for Luis Suárez with a hatrick on his debut for Gremio @El Profesor More players should head there to end their career if they still have something left to offer. This is the league Messi himself should end his career in rather than the USA, Qatar or Saudi Arabia, which are leagues that are literal retirement. The Brazilian league is around the 7th best league in the world or so and is very watchable. The thing is, the more of these types of players there are going to Brazil, the more interest the league gains globally, which only benefits Brazilian football.
