Jean Michael Seri - Completes Nice Fulham Move

Recommended Posts

These rumours started swirling up recently after it broke Raul Sanllehi has maintained a good relationship with Seri's team after his move to Barca broke down last summer.

Can't really say I have seen any of him, but his name hasn't been branded around anywhere near the same as last season. Hasn't seem to carry his form through to this season.

I imagine the Seri to Arsenal rumours will intensify again given Arsenal's new Manager. He seems like the type of player he would have loved in his team at Sevilla.

If I read correctly he flew out to sign Seri at PSG but the Neymar deal scuppered the finances.

Barcelona had him signed and his medical done when literally as Seri was setting out to the airport to go to Barcelona and sign, Barça backed out. That situation is blamed for his mediocre season just gone as they say it broke him and spent the whole summer holiday locked in his flat.  He's a fantastic player if he can regain his form!

I imagine it'll be us or Arsenal given the amount of rumors.

Same source that reported Fabinho to Liverpool is claiming we are in advanced talks with Seri

Napoli with a strong interest in Seri. That´d be great start to the Ancelotti era.

Just a matter of which club he perfers really, as I think we were in advanced talks as well.

Given we have no manager and that Napoli are in the CL, reckon it'll be a no brainer unless we give him ridiculous wages.

West Ham have now been linked. Everybody else may as well just give up.

Chelsea remain interested in the Nice star Jean Michael Seri but will not make a move for the player until their managerial situation is sorted, Sky Sports News understands.

His thirty five million pound release clause expires soon too. It would be quite the Chelsea thing to do to sign him for a lot more than that.

If that's true it sounds like a huge coup for Fulham.

that's a great signing from Fulham, especially to beat that kind of competition too.

Barcelona, Chelsea, Napoli, Arsenal, Dortmund all linked with him, yet Fulham got him.

There has to be more to this.

If this does go through it's amazing how he has gone from being as close as you can get to signing for Barcelona to signing for Fulham in one season. Obviously a coup for Fulham, but I'm getting the impression he is nowhere near as good as people think he is.

I believe the only other serious contenders were us, yourselves, and Napoli.

You lot opted for a younger and potentially better option in Torreira.

We preferred Jorginho after he made his intentions clear he plans on following Sarri

And Napoli just got Fabian Ruiz to replace Jorginho. Again, a younger and cheaper option than Seri.

Me thinks Fulham was the only one remaining interested.

I have no understood the hype mate. I know there are some, Balon etc. that really rate him, but every time I've seen him play I've been disappointed, and I felt like he'd struggle in the Premier League. We were linked a few years ago too, and so I followed him quite closely, but he just seems so middle of the road. Fulham is probably the right move for him, to see if he can do it at a higher level.

Agreed but still does it effect the FFP?

FFP in the Prem doesn't really exist now - It's nowhere near as stringent as Uefa's. Also the TV deal largely makes it redundant considering the huge income these clubs have. Beyond that teams like City have made it an absolute farce as they've just found 'creative' ways round it all with sponsorship.

Yeah to me he seems a bit of a one season wonder, he was barely spoken of last season and he will be 27 by the time the season starts, so he doesn't have potential on his side.

In truth I haven't seen anything of him, but considering where he has ended up, I can't imagine he is that special.
