After being bored of copying their philosophy for decades, Barcelona have finally figured out that it's easier just to buy Ajax.

To be honest, both clubs have been involved with each other for decades... Many La Masia players have oassed through Ajax' academy for a long time. Obviously due to the notable financial differences between the two, Ajax have obviously never signed too much from Barcelona aside from young players. Also, "copying" isn't the correct term from Barcelona's side of things in relation to Ajax... Not at all!

So the genuine reality is that nothing has been decided from De Ligt's side of things.

De Ligt has had multiple meetings with Barcelona in recent weeks accompanied by his infamous agent, Mino Raiola. The young Ajax defender has been trying to negotiate improved personal terms compared to those that were agreed on two months ago. According to Mino Raiola, his client's image and worth has risen in the last 7 weeks since they last met and Barça have stuck by their guns saying that there is a structure (is there? although Barcelona are right here) and that they will stick by it.

It is known that Matthijs would love to play for Barça and that this is his preferred choice, but he has much more superior personal terms oferred from Bayern, Juve (??? where's the money coming from with them when they publicise €58m profits a year) and of course, who else, Barbie herself, PSG. So now it's upto him and he has time on his hands to decide on his future.

Wasnt Raiola banned from doing business or was it that he was not allowed to conduct official business? I dont care where he goes at this point just not Juventus because I honestly believe thats not where he should be.

Raiola is banned but as you alluded to, banned from putting his stamp on anything. He can attend meetings and to be honest, with this individual it’s best to keep him on decent terms at least. He’s obviously trying to pump up his share of the deal for when he’s habilitated again.

Raiola will be the problem in a transfer of de Ligt as depends what club is prepared to pay him 20% of the transfer.

If stories are to be believed emanating from the Barcelona based sports press, then Raiola is definitely to blame on why the transfer hasn't already been executed. Raiola is asking for much more than an already extortionate amount on 20% mate. The rumours are that Barça could back-down any time soon and it's a shame because apparently De Ligt's dream is to play for Barça and he wants to continue to play with De Jong.

Why can't De LIgt just sack him? Or are there legal complications?

de Ligt will probably be sued and have to pay him millions.  This is why Ajax have tried to ban Raiola for so many years he causes rifts with the club and preys on these players at such a young age.  Justin Kluivert also had the same issues with Ajax and Raiola.  Its more than likely de Ligt will be pushed to Juventus due to Raiolas connections as they seem to make him alot of money.

That is why Raiolas players go to Italy he has agreements due to his connections. So many Dutch players fall for this trap including Dennis Bergkamp back in the day.

Didn’t Bacelona just buy a young CB? What about Lenglet and Umtiti?

Clair Todibo. He is a great prospect but de Ligt at 19 is a phenomenon. This is a one off in the correct environment.
