Jay Rodriguez - Premier League Clubs Interested

Recommended Posts

Burnley, Bournemouth, West Ham and Crystal Palace are all interested according to Sky.

I'd quite like to see him back at Burnley given the problems he's had with injuries, fitness and unproven allegations ahead of this relegation. I reckon a return 'home' under Sean Dyche could be what he needs to get the best out of him.

If he stays relatively injury free and plays the majority of the season, he is a very tidy striker.

I think we're finally seeing signs of him coming back to something like he was before that horrific run of injuries he had. His confidence took a massive battering and he struggled to regain any kind of form at Southampton.

A fresh start was what he needed and with practically a full season behind him at West Brom, I think he could kick on from that, especially if he played for someone that has more than 25% possession in games and dares to cross the half way line.

He's also one of the few players who is equally as good with his left as he is on his right and he has a great leap for winning headers. Could see him at any of the clubs mentioned but actually think Palace or Bournemouth would be his best shouts.

I detect a slight dig there. :D

Set to move to Burnley for £20m?

West Brom striker Jay Rodriguez has been linked with a summer return to Burnley - and he's now odds-on to make the move.

Rodriguez , who is also wanted by Bournemouth as well as the Clarets according to reports, scored seven goals in the Premier League last season as Albion were relegated.

The Baggies remain braced for interest in the 28-year-old and will demand around £20m to allow him to leave The Hawthorns.

Sean Dyche is understood to rate Rodriguez highly and wants to bring him back to Burnley.

Rodriguez was a boyhood fan of the club, scored 41 times in 128 appearances in his previous spell at Turf Moor and was the subject of interest from them last summer, before Albion nabbed him from Southampton.

And he's now odds-on to sign for Burnley with Sky Bet who are offering a price of 2/5 that he signs for them during the transfer window.

It seems very likely to happen.

Its possibly the best club for him. With the position Burnley are in, the affinity Jay has with the club, and the man management style of Sean Dyche.

I imagine West Brom were probably hopeing to use him as a catalyst for promotion but with his fitness issues you can't really bulk at £20m which could get them 2/3 regular first teamers for an automatic promotion push.

Sky Sports News understands Burnley will make an improved £18m offer to West Brom for striker Jay Rodriguez later today.

Sean Dyche is becoming increasingly frustrated by the situation and wants a new striker in before the deadline - it's thought Rodriguez is keen on a move back to the Premier League in his home town, but is prepared to stay and try to get Albion back into the top division if a deal can’t be done.
