National teams to support at the WC 2018

Recommended Posts

Who will you support on the World Cup from each continent/confederation? Don't have to include the country of your origin if they qualified.

For me:

AFC/Asia - Japan

CAF/Africa - Nigeria

CONCACAF/North America, Central America - Mexico

CONMEBOL/South America - Brazil

UEFA/Europe - England

This is a little different for moi as my home nation (USA) and my adopted nation (Italy) are both out of the World Cup. My 'team' this year will be Portugal as I have started following their domestic league. But to answer your question, here are mine -

AFC/Asia - Saudi Arabia

CAF/Africa - Egypt

CONCACAF/North America, Central America - Costa Rica

CONMEBOL/South America - Brazil

UEFA/Europe - Portugal or Russia

I see Japan are the hipster team again. Group H is pretty hipster-heavy in fact... I'll support all of them except Poland  Mexico as well, just to complete the list.

So that makes:

AFC/Asia - Japan

CAF/Africa - Senegal

CONCACAF/North America, Central America - Mexico

CONMEBOL/South America - Colombia

Hahaha... One thing a decent sized percentage of those that voted to leave can't change, is one fundamental thing.  The fact the UK is in the continent of Europe.  Some of them would love to invent a tugboat that could pull it a lot further out into the Atlantic. xD

With that I suggest you seriously give Uruguay a thought. ;)

Whereas ordinary people usually only eat plants and animals, it's said that some of the Uruguayan players eat people too which balances things. That's fair I guess.

Teams I want to see do well are

Asia. Japan

South America. Uruguay

Africa. Nigeria

Americas. Costa Rica

Europe. Obviously Germany, if that doesn't count then Denmark.

If Germany can't win it then Belgium or France wouldn't be the worst. Fuck Spain, Fuck Brazil and Fuck Argentina.

Teams I want to see nose dive into oblivion are

Australia. Brick layers going to the world cup in '5th' spot qualifying is criminal when Netherlands and Italy miss out. If only they had to play against a real team in the play offs, not a branch of Isis and a tax haven run by pirates.

England, only because the bantz would be tremendous.

Peru, but beat Australia 4-0 please.

Brazil.
