I took Friday off so I could get the surgery I needed. I came in today though, I regret it. They’ve given me some poor unpaid intern to be my assistant for the next few months. I feel a bit bad because instead of getting useful experience for the uni class credits this internship is giving him... he’s basically just going to write emails for me and open things I can’t. Easy job though, I guess, and if he ever uses me as a reference I’ll say he shits gold and they’d be morons not to hire him... so not all bad for the poor fucker. I do get bored but I'm only on a short term contract so manage to pass the time tbh, if it were a permenant job I'd be out of my skull. Different expectations and perspective. As I said above I spent about half a week listening to Graham Hunter's book on Spain's treble winning side which not only passed the time but was very interesting and just a well written book. Apparently only the third time we've phoned the police in 20 years. Had a 20 year-old boy bawling crying, threatening to smash an air conditioning unit, against the wall, showing me the scars on his neck from a suicide attempt, telling me about how his step-dad raped him and how he himself was falsely accused of raping some girl.
