The club will still have money, they must be paying wages to their current players.

They still make money, but after the clubs ownership is highly questionable. Li owes money to various loan sharks on abursd interest rates. How the hell did the club put together this sort of financial package for, at a best, an above average winger? And don’t be mistaken; Ligue 1 is total guff

Memphis Depay has reached a personal agreement with AC Milan , reports Rai Sport, Reportedly, his player and club have agreed a contract with a term until mid-2023, whereby the Orange international will earn approximately 4.5 million euros per season. Milan

Trainer Gennaro Gattuso , who was present at the practice match between Italy and the Netherlands (1-1) last Monday-evening, according to the Italian media had already given the green light for the arrival of Depay and now the attacker would broadly agree with the club from Milan

The Italian superpower also has to fear European exclusion due to violations of the Financial Fair Play rules. It is not yet known how high the transfer budget will be for next season. Lyon is said to see at least forty million euros for Depay, which is still in place until mid-2021. The French paid Manchester United sixteen million euros a year and a half ago.

Of course they are! Their owner is about as believably (and realistically) wealthy as Captain fucking Birdseye. Nothing about the clubs books make sense

When will Milan learn? Not to discredit Depay's form for Lyon, but this is another signing purely on name. Can see it being a disastrous move for him, he should wait for something better. The again if they are chucking serious money at him, he will go.

I'd say Captain Birdseye must have a buck or two to be honest... He was fishing for frozen fish fingers even as far back as when I was a kid! xD

PS. @Bluewolf remembers when freezers didn't exist.

The modern day John Spano buying the New York Islanders.

Smoke and Mirrors, House of cards, whatever you want to call it. When people look back in history, they won't believe how someone could pull off such a fraud.

Any club that Milan are buying from needs to make sure there aren't any delayed payments but are given cash there and then. The loan sharks are going to get their money first before any football team does.

This is exactly what I was thinking, what sort of structured payments and payment guarantees have been made? Hong’s assets been frozen in China was widely reported as was the fact he leveraged ALL the money to buy the club from loan sharks. I can’t see where the first payment will come from unless they sell first. I highly suspect as well there’s intricate money laundering at work here as well.
