Bruno Fernandes - Man Utd Agree Deal

West Ham United have made a £20m offer to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes, according to Sky sources.

Sporting, who face losing a number of key players after they asked to have their contracts terminated, are, however, looking for a fee of £25m.

One other Premier League club has shown concrete interest in Fernandes and it is thought La Liga giants Atletico Madrid are also keen on him.

The 23-year-old starred for Portugal at the World Cup before they were knocked out in the last 16 by Uruguay, and he is among the Sporting players to have requested for their contracts to be terminated, citing "just cause".

 United favorites to sign him.

A midfield of Pogba and Bruno would be quite good on paper.

Was ready to piss myself at West Ham here before realising the initial article is from last summer. Worth a bit more than £20m now.

Apparently we've bid £45m according to the Portuguese press?

Makes sense. You lot need end product from midfield and he'll undoubtedly give you that.

Broke Lampard's goal scoring record last season.

Not so sure there is really any truth to this move.  All the noise on this is coming out of Portugal.  It's  even been said that United are actually upset with all the constant links to them.

He looks a decent player and I would like him at United, but it does not look like United will spend the money for Fernandes unless Pogba leaves.

I'm guessing Sporting made that 5m payout to him then for blocking a move. In retrospect he probably regrets that clause

I’d read we’d decided against an offer weeks before the deadline because he loses the ball to much. Would have for right in with the useless bunch of cunts we’ve got.

I doubt he regret 5m in the bank.

With a move to England he’d probably be getting a massive pay rise for a period of years that would give him more money than that.

That is only potential over several years, right now he is 5m richer and next season unless they trigger another 5m clause, he can move. That 5m bonus every season would be more substantial than anything else!

Yeah, exactly. Still young, will absolutely move next summer and has a nice five mil in the bank. Not gonna feel sorry for the lad.

Was this before Spurs opted for lo Celso?

He was always our backup option - Lo Celso was Poch's top choice

Him + Ndombele with a nice cherry on the top which would have been Dybala. Ah well
