I'd have kept him and got rid of Phil "Duncan Edwards" Jones instead

Same, I think he is more reliable than most of the defenders we have and that's the sad part, cause he isn't even that good. But he isn't the worst. Jones done nothing in those 8 years he has been at the club apart from being permanent injured and making weird faces during games. Bailey is getting injured every 2 games, Rojo is not good either.

Don't get me started on Rojo >:(

City Centre is nice, but it’s a shithole outside the tourist attractions.

In fairness mate footballers don’t join a London club and then move to Croydon or Bethnal Green

Roma has published a picture of loanee Chris Smalling, 30, in their kit for next season and are confident of signing the Manchester United and England defender on a permanent deal. (Corriere dello Sport - in Italian)Arrow.png.11dba306a38513eaf6af67a1e84e176b.png

Manchester United will not extend their current loan agreements with Roma for Smalling or with Inter Milan for Chile forward Alexis Sanchez, 31, as they want both players to move on permanently. (Sky Sports)Arrow.png.11dba306a38513eaf6af67a1e84e176b.png

If Man United are after anything resembling the €20 million that's been quoted, Roma should move on. Spending that much on a 30 year old, with their financial difficulties, would be a mistake.

Made that mistake with Pastore and now are desperate to get him off their wage bill. Not looking for austerity at the club, but a change of strategy and hopefully more of a chance for some of the talented young players at the club.

Manchester United are ‘raising the wall’ in front of Inter Milan and Roma, who are trying to secure loan extensions for Chris Smalling and Alexis Sanchez.

The United duo have spent the season on loan in Italy, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making it clear last summer that he was not part of their plans.

Both players have rebuilt their reputations – Smalling more successfully than Sanchez – and Inter and Roma are keen to keep them as long as possible.

Both clubs want to extend their loan deals to cover the return of the Europa League later this year but, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Manchester United have said no to their proposals so far. Sports WitnessArrow.png.90a53df78cd9df66f8252a337b925cde.png

Roma offering €15million but also want Dalot on loan.

No idea about Dalot, but they desperately need someone to play right back/wing back and he can't be worse than the shrinking Bruno Peres.

Would much prefer another younger centre back who hasn't already found his ceiling, like Rugani who is seemingly available, as this is just another bandage for another two years. Just hope he won't be on near the wages he is probably on at Manchester United.

A thoroughly 'Meh' transfer.

Roma defender Chris Smalling and his family were victims of an armed robbery at their home early on Friday.

The robbery took place at the former Manchester United centre-back's home in southern Rome, with luxury watches and jewellery taken.

Smalling was forced to hand the items over to three armed men before they left the house.

Police, who were called to the house at 5am local time, are investigating the incident, in which no-one was harmed.

Smalling is understood to be shocked by the incident but is now calm after the situation was brought under control.

On Thursday evening, the defender watched from the sidelines with a knee injury as Roma secured a Europa League quarter-final aggregate win over Ajax.

Smalling, who earned the last of his 31 England caps in June 2017, joined Roma in October 2020 on a permanent deal, having spent the previous season on loan.

He told BBC Sport in February of that year how settled he and his family felt in the Italian capital.

If you're rich as fuck, I'm sure Rome's a really nice place to live. So I'm sure it's been fine for Smalling xD
