Borna Bariŝić signs for Rangers

RANGERS are today delighted to confirm the signing of Croatian international full-back Borna Bariŝić from NK Osijek on a four year deal.

Bariŝić will be well-known to Gers supporters having impressed against the Light Blues for Osijek in the recent Europa League ties, where he netted at Ibrox in the 1-1 second leg.

The 25 year-old came through the youth ranks at Osijek, before making the switch to NSK Bijelo Brdo. A return to Osijek then followed, before he won a move to Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2015.

He moved on-loan to Lokomotiva before returning to Osijek for a third spell. Since his move back there in 2016, his form has been exceptional, to the extent he has won three caps for the Croatia national team against China, Chile and Mexico.

He was included in the initial 32-man pool for this summer’s World Cup in Russia, but narrowly missed out on the final 23-man squad as Croatia, of course, made it all the way to the final.

Bariŝić becomes the 11th signing of the summer for Rangers, as Steven Gerrard continues to revamp the squad.

I was impressed with him during our games with Osijek and he was their stand-out player.

Will be interested to see how it plays out, hopefully a successful partnership between him and Katic.

Must be the end of Lee Wallace at Rangers, if it wasn't already before.
