Amazing what he's done with Bournemouth, what a hero he must be down there. From nearly being relegated from the football league to where they are now.

Would like to see him managing England in the future.

They’ve got another potentially decent  month ahead of them with games against Watford, Southampton and Fulham in the league.

I’d say it’s quite a big month for Bournemouth in all honesty as looking forward to November and December, they have Man United x2, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Wolves and Tottenham.

Six points from their next three puts them on 19 points for the season and probably half way to safety, which is a great start for them.

Yeah I hate the pulling of shirts, late tackles, ankle nips off the ball etc.

But you cannot fault them on the fact they're very quick on closing players down on the ball, covering every blade of grass and playing good football when they have the ball.

I hate the fact that we as a football club tried to evolve when we did. We should have spent the money as little Palace with the noisy fans in the corner on Cook, Ake, Brooks etc when we had the chance. Because they're the players that can elevate a club instead of Adebayor, Hangeland, Ayew etc.

Great manager and Bournemouth is a really good team that play's good football. Also pretty offensive for their limited squad and rarely park the bus or have a defensive approach. I envy them for having Ake as we should have kept him. He would be ideal for Sarri's system and he can play in a number of position across the defense and cover the midfield.

Bournemouth are a genuinely good model. Yes they've had a financial backing but plenty of clubs who've had that have totally squandered it.

They have a good model, built on a spine of players who’ve been at the club since its days in League One, however, those players are getting older. Simon Francis is 33, Andrew Surman is 32, Marc Pugh is 31 and Charlie Daniels is 32.

I do wonder what will happen there over the next couple of years as these players will undoubtedly be moved on and we’ve seen before that clubs who have developed a good model (Stoke , Swansea and Charlton come to mind) that when they deviate from their model, the model then falls apart.

Jermain Defoe gets League Cup winners' medal - 10 years after Tottenham beat Chelsea

1 hour ago | Football

Former Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has finally been handed a League Cup winners' medal - 10 years after helping Spurs reach the final.

Defoe appeared in five ties but then moved to Portsmouth one month before Spurs beat Chelsea in the 2008 final.

The EFL acted and presented Defoe, 36, with a medal after learning he had not received a memento for his part.

"It's a nice feeling to have been a part of the history of that club," Defoe, now at Bournemouth, said.

The Englishman, who has 57 caps for his country, added: "I remember contributing to help the boys get to that stage and after that it was actually nice to sit back and watch the lads go on to lift the trophy.

"At the end of the day, they're all your friends and you still want them to win, to get your medal!"

The 2008 League Cup is Spurs' most recent silverware. They face Chelsea in a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final next month.

I like Eddie Howe and Bournemouth, and how they always try to give it a go - even if it probably isn't wise to... because against us and at Spurs today, they got absolutely turned over (especially today). On the one hand it's commendable because they play good looking football. On the other hand, a bit more pragmatism would probably be better for them in the long run. But overall I do like his overall outlook and philosophy.

Would be interesting to see how he does at a bigger club.

Simon Francis: Bournemouth defender sidelined for up to nine months with an ACL injury

33 minutes ago | Bournemouth

Bournemouth defender Simon Francis will be out for between six and nine months after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The 33-year-old club captain was carried off on a stretcher after suffering the injury in Wednesday's 5-0 defeat by Tottenham at Wembley.

Francis has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season.

"We are devastated to have lost Simon to a serious knee injury," said Cherries boss Eddie Howe.

"It is a huge blow for us to lose our captain and someone who has performed so well and consistently for the team over a long period of time.

"There is a long road ahead but Simon is a model professional who has a positive mindset and is surrounded by good people. I know he will leave no stone unturned in order to get back as soon as possible."

Francis sustained the injury as he twisted trying to challenge Spurs forward Son Heung-min shortly before half-time.

Earlier this month, Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook  was also ruled out for up to nine months after rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Emerson Hyndman: Bournemouth midfielder returns from Hibernian at end of the loan spell

4 hours ago | Hibernian

American midfielder Emerson Hyndman has returned to Bournemouth from Hibernian at the end of his six-month loan.

The 22-year-old, capped twice by the United States, has made 17 appearances for the Scottish Premiership side, all but five of them in the starting XI.

Hyndman contracted to the Cherries until 2020, said last month that he was keen to extend his stay at Easter Road and that the clubs had held talks.

But Bournemouth are currently short of fit central midfielders.

Only Andrew Surman and Jefferson Lerma are available - and the latter is on the brink of a two-match suspension, having received nine yellow cards in the Premier League.

Hibs head coach Neil Lennon was critical of his players after they finished 2018 by losing to Hearts 1-0 as the Scottish Premiership headed for its January winter break.

"We need to add to our squad, we need some quality in because that's what we are lacking at the minute," he said.

"Some players are not playing anywhere near as well as they can."

Lennon singled out strikers Florian Kamberi and James Maclaren for criticism but has also bemoaned the lack of creativity and goal threat from midfield.

Hyndman, who has only made seven Bournemouth appearances since signing from Fulham in 2016, has scored once for Hibs, in a 6-0 win over Hamilton Academical in October.

The American was in his second spell on loan in the Scottish top flight, having spent six months with Rangers in 2017.

Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Josh Campbell has also left Easter Road, the 18-year-old joining League One side Airdrieonians on loan until the end of the season.

Campbell recently agreed a new contract with Hibs until 2022.

We've played them 7 times in the Premier League and are still yet to even lead a game against them, let alone beat them.

They come here at the end of this month, if they lose at Huddersfield next week, it's on the back of ten straight away defeats. This frankly terrifies me.

There's no side who seems to get tanked by the top sides as frequently as these.

They're such a baffling team. Literally either beat Chelsea 3-0 or 4-0 or get twatted 13-1 against any top six team.

Their matches with us at their place are bizarre every year and have on three occasions seen us lose two goal leads but then they come to Goodison and roll over.

They outplay us every time. In fairness for all we don't beat them, it's more often than not a draw.

Their good start is keeping them up at this rate.

What about when you won the league?

Drew 1-1 away there, a late penalty giving us an equaliser in a dreadful display. The first of Vardy's 11 goal run.

Drew 0-0 at home to them. Missed a penalty on the hour and couldn't break down 10 men.

We just can't beat them.
