Leeds United Chairman Wants “Premier League 2”

The cynic in me would suggest that the idea for this would be to take a certain amount of clubs to create a “PL2” where they get a higher share of TV money and where they’ll close the door on the rest, those less fortunate who won’t be including will be cut adrift with a pittance.

No issue if you want to create a league that is commercialized but Premier League implies "top flight" and the name just doesn't work.

Effectively, I see it as stop spreading the TV money across all Football League sides, give most/all of it to the second tier sides, where we’ll call it something stupid like PL2.
