Boca's keeper has been underwhelming. Has he been injured? Didn't fancy diving and prefers punching when catching is a better option.

He has been injured, but he's also not that good.

Honestly I don't know how Barros Schelotto has gotten his success with Boca. He's proven time and time that he is a terrible manager. Today was the final nail in the coffin though. His tactics after River's goal were so reactive and would seal Boca's fate. Tactics you would normally see in stoppage time, and seeing them much earlier. Also deciding to not risk Benedetto when the stakes were high. He's tactically clueless and that has lost him the game. I don't rate Gallardo a lot but at least he knows what he's doing and doesn't have to ride on his luck to win.

Congrats to River Plate though, much deserved winners of the competition this time around at least when you compare it to 2015 when they were much worse than they are now. 4 Libertadores, catching up to Boca soon!

Great scenes there. Boca going for it and have nearly everyone in the box and River go up the other end and tap into an empty net.

Sublime entertainment this extra time. It’s a shame that we don’t get more Libertadores games shown live here in the UK. If they have half even 10% of the drama of this two-legged Final, it would make for a welcome addition on UK tv instead of the menial rigmarole of watching the Champions League group stages.

They literally lost all mobility the moment he changed Benedetto for that bloke.

If ever there was an easy way to see how these things can go wrong even for an amateur football starter fan, this is the perfect example to be used for many years to come. It was so visible.

Yeah, great entertainment. Atmosphere seemed alright considering it was away from Argentina but just begs the question of how fucking mental it would have been if it was still at El Monumental?!

Turned out to be a decent game overall. Boca had the first half in the bag. Subs were poor in the 2nd half, Tevez should have come on earlier. Quintero coming on for River was a big move and it paid off. Quality player. Quality strike.

I don't think Tevez is the player he once was mate, probably right to stay on the bench.

But he was brought on very late, nonetheless.

Forgot to mention the red card, too. That was a big moment in the game, too. Nonsensical from Barrios jumping in with two feet.

You are correct on the first bit, but if Benedetto's injury was as bad as Schelotto made it out to be, Tevez would have been the better option.
