CaaC (John) 4,960
I hope this is just a rumor and nothing else, the guy is bloody 32 years old, the rumor is from the Daily Star so I can breathe easy ... I hope Manchester United have emerged as favorites with the bookies to sign Chelsea defender Gary Cahill, the Daily Star reports. https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11440378/manchester-united-transfer-rumours-gary-cahill-paul-pogba-and-marko-arnautovic
True Blue 955
He can still do a good job, highly doubt that United will go for him considering his age. Also he would probably be on a big wage. Think a top 8 or mid table team would be ideal for him as he would easily be a starter.

Stan 16,961
For a club that has the aspirations and ambitions of getting back to the top of the European football, or at least competing for it, Cahill is not the kind of signing you'd want to make. Koulibaly, is. But if they settle for Cahill, then that is just embarrassing.

Honey Honey 3,664
He wouldn't even get in our team so I assume it's just a clickbait rumour.
The Palace Fan 3,192
Quote Chelsea defender Gary Cahill is one of a number of defenders being considered byArsenal amid a defensive injury crisis, according to The Sun. The report suggests the Gunners are lining up Cahill as a replacement for Rob Holding, who suffered a long-term injury in Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester United earlier this month. True Blue 955
Great servant to the club, never moaned always gave his best. Our fans didn't appreciate him enough as he had those moments of madness when he truly fucks up. However he won it all with us and where ever he goes i would wish him well and think fondly of him. Cicero 5,167
Looking more and more likely he'll be leaving in January. Exceeded expectations given the level of his quality. We asked a lot out of him in 2012 and 2015, much more than he is naturally capable of. From starting for Bolton, to playing in the Champions League final 3 months later. Best time for him to leave would be now as he could still do a job for most premier league sides. As True Blue mentioned, truly a player we will look back and think fondly of. CaaC (John) 4,960
Quote Gary Cahill set to leave Chelsea for London rivals on a free transfer this summer Former Aston Villa favourite Gary Cahill is set to exit Chelsea for free - and he's moving across London. According to reports, the former Villa centre-back will leave the Stamford Bridge outfit in the summer. The England international is due to see out the rest of his contract at the London club. It came after Cahill reportedly rejected approaches from Fulham, Arsenal and Juventus during the January transfer window. Now, reports claim Crystal Palace are planning to move to sign him for free. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gary-cahill-set-leave-chelsea-15777020
True Blue 955
Fair play to him, didn't want to Join the likes of Juventus since he knew he would just be a number on the team. He wanted to be a starter in a Premier League club which i think he is more than capable off.

Dr. Gonzo 7,526
Tbh I think Arsenal should have been in for them. He may be well past his best, but I think he's got more about him than other defenders they've got.

Lucas 3,664
Funny how he's been free all summer and it's taken 4 days before the window shuts for him to sign with Palace. I get the impression he was scheduled to go somewhere else as part of a knock on effect from the McGuire transfer but for whatever reason, the player he was supposed to replace hasn't or will not be moving on and as that's not materialised, he's agreed to go to Palace. You're welcome.

The Palace Fan 3,192
It's a weird one. A 33 year old center back represents everything we shouldn't be doing this summer. We have one of the oldest squads in the league. We have a fine centre back pairing and we have two backups that are reliable when called upon. At the same time, Tomkins and Sakho seem to regularly pick up injuries, so having an experienced figure like Cahill available makes sense. Danny Wellbeck is another one that represents everything we shouldn't be doing but I wouldnt be ssurprised if we sign him. A forward with a horrendous injury record on high wages, but when hes fit hes capable of creating chances for himself upfront and liking with our good wide players. Which annoyingly makes sense. There is a fundamental problem at the moment of a lack of planning for the future. We dont seem to look further than the present. It's been going on for years now and eventually it's going to bite us real hard.
