It's the follow-up to their 2014 self-titled debut

Royal Blood have announced details of the second album.

The band have confirmed that the follow-up to their 2014 self-titled debut will be titled ‘How Did We Get So Dark?’ and will be released on June 16.

The Brighton duo uploaded a video to Twitter earlier today in which they create a mural of what appears to be the album’s artwork. The clip is soundtracked by new music. Watch beneath.

Frontman Mike Kerr previously spoke about the new album, saying: “We had a warehouse space in Burbank [in California] and it was great. We’d party at night and write all day. By that point, we felt the record was coming together and there was a bit of a theme between the songs.”

Kerr added that the band wrote around 50 songs for the album with the motto “anything you’re not proud of, bin it” – with the results proving “way sexier, more confident sounding” than their debut.

Asked if their second album would feature more piano, drummer Ben Thatcher said: “We’re not turning into Keane, put it that way. We’re still bringing the rock n’ roll.”

Last year they performed a new track called ‘Hook, Line And Sinker’ at Reading Festival. Built on a sludgy bass riff and a pounding rhythm from drummer Ben Thatcher, the track featured a falsetto chorus in which Kerr sang “Say my name again/ You’re caught in the middle.”

This year, they are already confirmed to be playing festival sets at Nos Alive 2017 and Eden Sessions.

Josh Homme and co are up to something

Queens Of The Stone Age appear to be teasing their long-awaited new album.

The band are gearing up to hit the road this summer, having finished work on their next record. They had been working on the album on and off since last summer.

Now the Josh Homme-led band have uploaded mysterious artwork – which features a new version of their logo – to their social media accounts, along with the words “Coming TwentyFive”. See beneath.

It is not yet known whether ‘TwentyFive’ is the name of a song, album or reference to a release date.

While Homme and bassist Dean Fertita spent much of 2016 recording and touring with Iggy Pop for ‘Post Pop Depression‘, QOTSA have reportedly been at work on the long-awaited follow-up to 2013’s ‘…Like Clockwork’ for some time – and finally claimed to have ‘locked in’ to finish work on the record last summer. It was previously revealed that new music would be released later this year.

Katy Perry apologises for ‘cultural appropriation’

'I didn't know that I did it wrong until I heard people saying that I did it wrong'

Katy Perry has spoken out to discuss and apologise for previous instances in which she was accused of ‘cultural appropriation’.

The singer was speaking to Pod Save The People’s DeRay McKesson as part of her four day-long internet livestream to promote her latest album, ‘Witness‘.

“I’ve made several mistakes,” Katy began. “Even in this ‘This Is How We Do’ video with how I wore my hair and having a hard conversation with one of one of my empowered angels, Cleo, about what does it mean?

“Why can’t I wear my hair that way? Or what is the history behind wearing my hair that way? And she told me about the power in black women’s hair and how beautiful it is, and the struggle.”

Speaking of the controversial ‘This Is How We Do’ video in which she was filmed with cornrows in her hair, she continued: “I listened and I heard and I didn’t know, and I won’t ever understand some of those things because of who I am.

“I will never understand, but I can educate myself and that’s what I’m trying to do along the way.”

As for her 2013 American Music Awards performance where she dressed like a geisha, Perry added: “I didn’t know that I did it wrong until I heard people saying that I did it wrong. It takes someone to say, out of compassion, out of love, ‘Hey, this is what the origin is’.”

“And not just a clap back. Because it’s hard to hear those clap backs sometimes, your ego just wants to turn from them.”

It's hypersensitivity caused by being a minority and responding by putting race at the forefront of your identity. If you went to an African country and joined in with the local dance they wouldn't batter an eyelid because they don't define themselves by the colour of their skin.

23 minutes ago, Dr. Gonzo said:

Neil Peart passed away. Rush we’re never really my cup of tea, but he was an incredible drummer

I am the same on Rush, never my thing but I can well appreciate the talents of all three. Peart was an absolute master of his craft, it is very reasonable to claim he is the greatest rock drummer ever. Don't think I've seen such an outpouring from the genre tonight since Malcolm Young passed.
