The Palace Fan 3,400 Posted December 5, 2018 Share Posted December 5, 2018 Athletic Bilbao have sacked their coach Eduardo Berizzo on Tuesday after 13 matches without a win in La Liga. Berizzo's replacement will be Gaizka Garitano, who had been coaching the club´s reserve team, Bilbao Athletic, after previous spells in charge of Eibar, Real Valladolid and Deportivo La Coruna. Berizzo had overseen only one league victory this term, on the opening weekend at home to Leganes. They sit 18th in La Liga. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
SirBalon 2,692 Posted December 5, 2018 Share Posted December 5, 2018 I was going to post this last night along with the death of Josep Lluís Núñez (President of FC Barcelona from 1978 to 2000 for which I will do a special thread soon)... Really feel sad for Berizzo because I don't know how much of the blame lies at his feet for Athletic's problems this season.... That coupled with the cancer issue he went through last year.
