CaaC (John) 2,731 Posted December 31, 2018 This will be one match that Ole will find as being the hardest so far in his EPL Managers trail for United, Raffa loves playing United and trying to beat us but I will keep the faith and say we should win this, 2-0 or even 1-0 will be fine, let Mata have a full game and please Ole leave Fellaini on the bench and bring him on as a sub later...preferably if we are 2-0 up and in stoppage time. Steve Bruce Almighty 2,956 Posted January 2, 2019 I don't have much belief. We've lost every game against the top 6 this season and some of them we put a lineup out that says we don't care just keep the score down. Only Huddersfield are worse at home than us. We've only scored 4 goals in the 2nd half all season. Again, only Huddersfield have a worse attack than us. Fede went off injured against Watford so he is likely out. That means defensively Lascelles who seems to have a shit game one week and a good game the next, alongside Schar who looked like Titus Bramble against Fulham and is partly to blame for Watford's equaliser, as well as chopping someone down right at the death when he got done. We've got Kenedy not being involved because of his attitude and Ki gone to the Asian cup. All of this at a time when Man Utd are high in confidence and scoring goals. Many players will have to substantially raise their game if we are to get anything.
Lucas 2,342 Posted January 2, 2019 Any chance you can get Demba Ba back on loan just for tonight?

Steve Bruce Almighty 2,956 Posted January 2, 2019 I'm glad it's a home game and I don't have to sit through SkySports wanking off Man Utd. I feel sorry for any neutral who will have sit through SkySports becoming MUTV.

JoshBRFC 759 Posted January 2, 2019 (edited) Newcastle will get something from this game. Mark my words... Man United's defence will make an embarrassing mistake.
ScoRoss 504 Posted January 2, 2019 Lascelles very lucky to get away with a barge on Rashford.
...Dan 651 Posted January 2, 2019 (edited) Newcastle doing alright here. If Atsu was any good they could be in front.
ScoRoss 504 Posted January 2, 2019 Mata is wasted in a wide position. Pogba is playing as high up the pitch as Rashford, and there's a huge amount of space to exploit in the middle. If Man United had a right back that could trouble the opposition in this game, Mata could have the freedom to create and make this game a lot easier for them. DeadLinesman 3,475 Posted January 2, 2019 Rashford has been anonymous. Consistency once again his biggest problem.
Stan 10,976 Posted January 2, 2019 Just like at the weekend, Lukaku is subbed on and scores. 0-1.
DeadLinesman 3,475 Posted January 2, 2019 Shelvey is an absolute cunt. Hope he gets aids.
Rick 1,375 Posted January 2, 2019 Shelvey should be off for that. Dirty fucker.
Stan 10,976 Posted January 2, 2019 Not even seen the challenge but can already imagine it's a shocker just because it's Shelvey.
DeadLinesman 3,475 Posted January 2, 2019 Pogba with the retaliatory challenge . Wasn’t half as bad though.
DeadLinesman 3,475 Posted January 2, 2019 Rashford with the second. Been much better this half.

Studs up right into the back of Pogba's knee. Awful. Newcastle going forward are about as useless as my nipples. Can't cross a ball to save their fucking lives. Steve Bruce Almighty 2,956 Posted January 2, 2019 They pretty much all tried hard. We just aren't good enough. It's all a bit tiring. I remember when we used to have good players who didn't put the effort in. It filled you with anger. This time we've got bang average players who put the graft in. You can't be angry at them. It's just all a bit tiring. We are 2 points off the drop and have Chelsea (a), Man City (h) and Tottenham (a) in our next 4 games.
Stan 10,976 Posted January 2, 2019 oh my fucking days. Makes a mockery of 'only big clubs get decisions' in games but Shelvey simply has to face retrospective action. If this isn't dangerous play I don't know what it is. Fucking nasty.

Studs at the back of the knee, from behind, is dangerous. To me, it's quite clearly malicious as well given the speed he comes in, too.
Dr. Gonzo 4,613 Posted January 3, 2019 That’s one of those ones that looks bad (because it is bad) that sort of looks better than it should because it could have gone a lot worse in terms of what happened when a player goes studs up into someone’s knee. Still very dangerous though

Mel81x 2,260 Posted January 3, 2019 Shelvey should have gone off for that challenge considering the nature of the tackle and the added fact that its from behind as well. Absolutely no intention to get the ball. Having said all that it was quite hilarious to see Pogba retaliate and I was really hoping that there would have been a fight between the two but it never materialized. Newcastle sold themselves short by not harassing the midfield more and using Matt on the wing to pass the ball inwards (if they could pass a bit higher). Rondon had a chance too which went begging and Atsu was in a lot of positions to work the keeper but it just wasn't happening. You have to wonder where the points are going to come for Newcastle now with the next 6 fixtures because any kind of defensive game is going to only result in point loss and it doesn't seem like they have an attacking threat, that can convert goals, of any kind either.
