ScoRoss 500 Posted January 3, 2019 Celtic have a bad habit of signing these type of players, good enough for a top six Scottish Premiership side but not good enough to improve their first choice team. Just looking through their squad and seeing Allan, Jonny Hayes, Jack Hendry... For every Ryan Christie (who only got his chance because of several injuries) there seems to be about four others. That's why they'll still probably win the title, but have stagnated in Europe. Frankly, the SPFL should impose a maximum number of players over 21 eligible for the season. Not only would it even out the playing field a bit, it might actually force a Celtic board to be more strategic in their acquisitions. Hibs are the easiest and most logical place for him to end up. He has already made two horrendous career decisions, joining West Bromwich and Celtic, he needs first team football. He's only played about 150 first team games and he's 27. A lot of players have more than that in their early 20s.
