A little insight about this Gulf conflict

You people might know that America is about to leave Afghanistan after 17 years of war and had achieved nothing, but they don't want to look like as the losers and face the humiliation just like Vietnam so they want to start a new conflict in the region which intensifies and the whole world shifts its attention there while America sneaks out silently.

The recent Pakistan-India clashes were also an attempt of this plan, but thankfully we diffused the situation so now they shifted to the Middle East.

@nudge beat you to it :P

But i gave the current background :coffee:

Afghanistan is US current Vietnam, They want to get out but they want it to look like a mutual peace agreement but the Afghan Taliban are not agreeing saying either US accepts it surrender or we will kick them out so that's why US needs a major conflict in the region to distract attention whether its in Middle East or South Asia

This potential confrontation with Iran might be a cover for the real attack on Pakistan to counter China's interest and growing influence by disturbing the region from the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea....

@MUFC Have a look

So given how the rest of the country feels about us, does he increase the prejudice effect everywhere else?

Kind of explains why that non-Scouse blueshite lad on here out of the blue after not indicating he was a bigot anywhere else on the forum decided it was alright to give me & Mo some shite for being Middle Eastern though.

A bit sad though that a football player can make people’s bigotry higher or lower based on who they support

Robert Peston thinks working class people like Donald Trump. His approval with working class Britons is 16%.

I swear to god, our intellectual elite are some of the stupidest, most sheltered and most prejudiced people on this planet.

There must be some kind of congenital stupidity with the British upper-class, because you can throw the world's best education at them for centuries and you're still hard pressed to find any of them turn out to be remotely useful.

So the Welsh Government has decided that, despite being in the manifesto for the 2016 elections and had overwhelming backing from an independent review, the M4 relief road around Newport will no longer be built, with our First Minister mentioning that 'a commission of experts will be appointed to find a solution around the M4 problems around Newport'.

The reasons for it being rejected were cost (at £1.4bn before tax, though this was the same government that would have been happy to see £1.4bn being used on the Swansea Bay tidal lagoon by the UK Government. When rejected, they issued a non binding vote of no confidence on Alun Cairns because they can), environmental reasons (ignoring the fact that persistent heavy congestion will cause more issues) and 'comes at a time of maximum uncertainty' for Welsh Government finances. To put that last statement into perspective, this has been under discussion and planning for about 30 years.

So not only have the Severn Bridge tolls been removed (increasing the traffic as a result), but we'll now have to deal with the extra traffic without any further road developments in place to cope with it.

Take a big guess as to who this party is.

Dozens of firefighters are dealing with a large fire at a block of flats in Barking, east London.

London Fire Brigade tweeted that 15 crews totalling about 100 firefighters were called to De Pass Gardens at 15:31 BST.

The Met Police said officers were helping firefighters deal with "a major incident".

Pictures on social media showed part of the building engulfed in flames and smoke billowing into the air.

The ground floor to the sixth floor of the block of flats was alight, according to the London Fire Brigade.

Crews from Barking, Dagenham East Ham and other surrounding fire stations are at the scene.

Shit, hope everyone got out okay. Given it's mid-afternoon (and not at night like Grenfell when most were sleeping) hopefully people could escape.

If I remember correctly, all councils/landlords were required to replace the cladding that was used on Grenfell as an immediate safety precaution.
