The next Pirlo

Liverpool has reportedly opened talks with Serie A side Brescia over the potential transfer of Sandro Tonali, who has been dubbed the next ‘Andrea Pirlo’.

The highly-rated teenager, who is still 18, is valued at almost £35m by the Italian club, who recognize his potential and want appropriately compensated.

Any deal, reports in Italy claim, would be with a view to a transfer in the summer, so Tonali would likely remain where he is until at least then.

The Reds, who haven’t done any significant business this month, have reportedly added to their academy in the form of US Orleans defender Billy Koumetio.

The centre-back, 16, is highly rated and has already had a trial period with the Reds at the end of last year.

ESPN reports that Koumetio has been acquired permanently by the Merseysiders for a nominal fee.
