Tommy 5,188 Posted February 6, 2019 Considering his bad condition due to Alzheimers, one could say he was gone for a long time already. RIP

Faithcore 1,051 Posted February 6, 2019 (edited) RIP. Ich war nicht sein größter Fan, aber er war auf jeden Fall ein echter Typ und er gehörte einfach zur Bundesliga dazu.
SchalkeUK 345 Posted February 6, 2019 I spent some time with Rudi in the eighties - went with him to Milan for the final when poor David Wagner never get on the pitch and Roy Hodgson was the opposing boss - probably Rudi's greatest achievement was the idea and project which was the Veltins Arena constructed without grass inside which many thought was totally crazy! Not seen much of him in recent times - mainly due to his state of fitness, but he will long be remembered for his time not only in Gelsenkirchen but in Bremen too. The only positive thing at present was that he was unable to grasp what was going on at Schalke by the present regime which would have saddened him, to see the club in such a poor state. I know my old friend Manfred in Herne will shed a tear today - as will many others. Sei nett
