Following in the footsteps of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Dimitri Payet, Ousmane Dembele and Malcom, the 23-year-old has emerged as the stand-out talent in Ligue 1 over the past 18 months. He has scored 16 goals and set up eight assists in the French top flight this campaign and has been involved in a total of 41 league goals since the start of last season. Impressively, he has produced these numbers while playing on the right wing, an area that Arsenal are expected to strengthen. During the January transfer window, Unai Emery's side were linked with out-and-out wingers such as Ivan Perisic and Yannick Carrasco. Pepe will not cheap this summer but Lille boss Galtier has told the Gunners what is expected of them if they are to sign the Ivorian. "He has to go to a Champions League club," said the 52-year-old, in comments reported by Metro ."In my opinion, he does not need an intermediate step to go as high as possible."
