UK Grun Weiss
Kruse is an embarrassment. He does not score goals, create goals or assist goals. He plays no positive part in any game. He prevents young players such as Sargent from gaining experience. Why is he still starting every game for Bremen?

Rucksackfranzose
@UK Grun Weiss, is there any reason you created a new topic instead of using you're very ownhttps://talkfootball365.com/topic/6053-what-does-kruse-contribute-to-bremen/ ? UK Grun Weiss
Am I not free to create a new topic? I dont have Kruse's contract whereby I cant be dropped despite my "contribution"? Don't you believe in freedom of expression?
Rucksackfranzose
No, I just don't think we need 100 threads about the same topic, as for your question because he's one of the 5 best Werder players while Sargent isn't.
UK Grun Weiss
Im a traditionalist at heart, believing that a forward is not doing his job if he isn't scoring goals. The modern "false" forward (Max Kruse being the best example) is an enigma to me. Surely the "false" forward is the number 10 or sn attacking midfielder. A forward not scoring a goal should not be on the pitch

Considering you've just opened two new threads about it again I'm really glad I didn't waste my time. SchalkeUK
Love this!!! Now when you have finished with Max will you swap him for Burgstaller - then you will really have something to get your teeth into! Luckily his injury has forced our idiot to play young Tucu (another from the school ranks nearby). At least he knows where that netty thing between the two wooden sticks are! UK Grun Weiss
I can understand the logic (from the owners point of view). An old player who is not going to achieve better things elsewhere, e.g. Harnik/Kruse. A cheap option but doesnt this restrict the development of younger players at the club. UK Grun Weiss
I've watched Bremen play at Leicester and West Ham. Shouldn't Bremen play more friendlies against estsblished UK teams than play against second rate teams at the training camp in Austria?
UK Grun Weiss
I really, really hope they are. To watch him do nothing in the early stages of a match and then take free kicks, corners and throw ins in the hope that his lack of contribution may be overlooked e.g. not scoring or assisting goals. Devil-Dick Willie
No. I prefer dragging Chelsea and Everton to Bremen. At least win win those.
Moderator Tommy Posted February 11, 2019 Moderator Share Posted February 11, 2019 02.08.2016 - 30.06.2019 Werder Bremen Ligaspiele: 73 Tore: 25 Assists: 21 That's not too bad.
UK Grun Weiss
Kruse has been terrible this season. Admittedly he has been ok in the past 2 seasons but we need to live in the present. What does it say to young players when he starts every game and usually finishes every game despite contributing almost nothing.
UK Grun Weiss
Let them play a friendly in my part of the UK against Newcastle, Sunderland or Middlesbrough.

Subscriber nudge+ Posted February 11, 2019 Subscriber Share Posted February 11, 2019 The reason why Werder goes to Zillertal for the training camp each summer is because there's a long-term partnership between us and ZTG that brings us a six figure sponsorship money each season. The contract runs until 2019 and is expected to be extended for three more years.
UK Grun Weiss
What about from a footballing point of view? Play a professional team (from a top UK league) or play against a third division German or Austrian team? Save a very small amount of money yet prevent your team from playing a meaningful game. Administrator Stan Posted February 11, 2019 Administrator Share Posted February 11, 2019 Don't many clubs go to those kind of summer training camps for fitness purposes? Matches against the local clubs aren't all that important in terms of standard of opposition - it's about getting players fitness up after long periods off.
