I’m not sure you can compare a man of 46 and a man of 67.

Perhaps, Ranieri may not be as ambition or as marketable as he once was, but I expect Rogers career path like Ranieri's will also be on the downside once his tenure at Leicester is over.

Claudio Ranieri: Fulham sack manager with club 19th in Premier League

Fulham have sacked manager Claudio Ranieri, with Scott Parker taking caretaker charge of the London club who are 19th in the Premier League.

The Italian's last game was Wednesday's 2-0 defeat by Southampton, which left the Cottagers 10 points from safety with 10 league games remaining.

Ranieri, 67, took over in November after the sacking of Slavisa Jokanovic.

He was in charge for 16 league games but won only three, including a 3-2 win over Southampton in his first match.

Ranieri led Leicester City to a miraculous Premier League title triumph in 2016, but was dismissed by the Foxes just nine months later.

He took over on a "multi-year" contract at Fulham when the Cottagers were bottom of the table with five points from their opening 12 matches, but failed to oversee an upturn in fortunes.

Wait, what the fuck?! The absolute state of Fulham honestly.

Huge wastes of money in the summer and now will have to pay-off Claudio as well.

They've screwed this season up so badly given they had so much momentum and quality in their promotion.

Honestly thought that they would have comfortably survived in 13th/14th. Jovankovic or whatever he's called got them up but insane pressure seemed to follow and suddenly he's out the door, giving Ranieri the job and then sacking him four months later is utterly abysmal from the board - incompetence 101.

Hope they drop as absolute clowns like this have no place in the top flight. I do like Scott Parker but not Fulham this season.

Bet this gives them a kick up the arse and they stay up now, the absolute shithouses.

Nah, can't see it happening. They're in so much shit it's gonna be a huge effort to escape.

They've still gotta play Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton & Wolves which are tough games.

They've not won away all season and they come to us next weekend, hence not including us as it's typical for us to give them 3 points.

Absolute fuck up in a half from Fulham really.

Ranieri was sadly going down on a sinking ship. The owners were hoping he'd find a way to use the players they had better, but sadly he's not found a way defensively to prevent goals going in. Maybe he could have done better, but the damage was done IMO.

The blame lays totally on the owner and the club's transfer committee. They were the one's that took a 'big bang' approach by spending over £100m bringing in 12 players. Jokanovic had to find a way to put them into his system.

Does anyone really think Jokanovic wanted that much of an overhaul? Did he really wanna discard so many players that performed so well for him last season? Course not. But that's how a lot of clubs are run these days.

He failed, and Ranieri has unfortunately failed too.

It's a desperate last through if the dice but I cannot see anything but relegation for them. They are like a platinum watering can with holes at the bottom.

Sad because they had done it so right the previous two season's.

Slaviša Jokanović was Claudio Ranieri’s first Chelsea signing and Ranieri went on to replace him as Fulham manager.

Now Claudio Ranieri has just been replaced by caretaker boss Scott Parker, who was his last signing as Chelsea manager.

Honestly thought Ranieri was a strange appointment for their situation. It needed and Allardyce or Pulis really, genuinely believe they would've stayed up with someone like Big Sam.

They just might ask Big Sam now to perform an escape act, but I hope if they do ask him he will say "Up Yours..."

Fulham have confirmed Scott Parker has been placed in caretaker charge following Claudio Ranieri’s sacking.

The Craven Cottage club wielded the axe on Ranieri after a dreadful run of form that left last year’s Championship play-off winners 19th in the Premier League and 10 points adrift of safety.

Ranieiri, who was appointed in November, won three and lost 11 of his 17 matches in charge with Fulham now requiring an incredible turnaround to stay up with only 10 games of the season remaining.

Fulham chairman Shahid Khan said in a statement: “Following our discussion this afternoon, Claudio Ranieri agreed to my decision that a change was in the best interest of everyone. No surprise to me, Claudio was a perfect gentleman, as always. Claudio’s tenure at Fulham didn’t produce the outcome we anticipated and needed when I appointed him as Manager in November, but be assured he is not solely to blame for the position we are in today.

I am asking Scott Parker to serve as our Caretaker Manager. Scott’s immediate assignment is merely to help us stabilize, grow and rediscover ourselves as a football club. If Scott can answer that challenge, and our players respond to the opportunity, perhaps victories will follow in the months ahead.

“What’s most important at this moment, however, is to regroup in a smart and deliberate manner that will serve our long-term vision for sustainable success. If we’re able to do that and win some matches to make a stand late in the season, all the better.”

With Parker having been employed on a caretaker basis and with Fulham surely destined for relegation back to the second tier, potential permanent replacements at the end of the season are now being touted.

The early favourite is former Manchester United and Everton manager David Moyes, who has been out of work since leaving West Ham United last year.

David Wagner, the former Huddersfield Town boss and Claude Puel, who was recently sacked by Leicester City, are also among the front-runners.

In the prem under Shahid Khan's ownership they've had 6 managers in 67 matches. A new manager every 11 matches. Like his NFL team... I firmly believe that any success achieved on the pitch with Fulham is done in spite of Shahid Khan, rather than because of him.

They’ve just got this season wrong from day one. Twelve new players between 12th  July and 9th August and expecting them to bed in and gel immediately was lunacy. To then sack Jokanovic as a result of this was a bit harsh in all honesty.

Their Director of Football's behind that and... he's Khan's son so he's probably not going to get sacked.
