I want to watch more of Black Mirror but that first episode with the pig mentally scarred me xD

I never watched all of that one... I did laugh when the news was breaking on it though and they were watching it in the office trying to shut it down and one bloke said "It's trending on twitter already" xD

On one hand I will never get my head around the fact I see small kids with them while I am down the shops and out and about and to some degree I think it's lazy parenting that just keeps the children quiet. Giving them unfettered access to the world wide web with no control whatsoever can't be a good thing. On the other hand they are very useful to have if you want to keep in touch or they run into trouble for example when they are out with friends, they always have someone they can call, something we never had as kids.. if you wanted to call home you had to try and find a phone box somewhere that didn't have the cord ripped out and even then you had to have the right change on you.. funny enough in a related to the topic mention you always used to get loads of cards for adult related material like escorts and clubs etc pinned up all over them so even in them days you could stumble on stuff of an adult nature even then...

If I was able to have any control at all I would probably not let them have a phone at a young age until they understood what is and is not acceptable use.. I would however give them a phone for emergencies if they went somewhere so I could keep tabs on them while they were out or they could call to let us know things were ok, that way I could check what they had been using it for etc if I felt something was wrong...

These days with saturation advertising and school friends getting the latest phones it's difficult to keep trying to be the sensible parent battling against a tide of modern life and technology... I think the government should shoulder a fair percentage of the blame here as well, can't just be lumping everything on to the parent all the time... I mean for example, when we were kids we had roughly 10-15 hours of kids tv spread over the entire week, that would include a weekend binge and then grabbing a couple of hours after school... someone, somewhere suddenly decided that it would be a good idea to have a cartoon network channel that runs 24 hours a day!! they are so busy thinking about the cash generation and viewing figures rather than if it's a healthy thing for kids to be doing, suddenly the parent has to shoulder the brunt of that decision making.. guess who is the 'out of touch' dinosaur when it's tv off and bed time... Morally speaking don't we have a duty to be doing the right things where we can or am I alone here??

A "dumb" phone is perfect for smaller kids to have for emergencies and the likes; just give them an old Nokia 3310 - undestroyable, the battery holds for weeks and they can even play snake for entertainment when they bored. Can even be used for self defence if need be xD

Seriously though, I agree with you there. It's just that I'm a bit cynical in that I don't believe that politicians of any country care about its citizens and are acting with their best interests in mind so when it comes to proposals like this, I tend to think that personal data collection (or whatever else, depending on the issue) is the main motivation here as opposed to doing the right things in terms of morality and thinking about the well-being of the children.

Tbh porn isn't what concerns me that my kids will find on the internet.

That's lower down the pecking order of cancers.

Of greater concern is things like that go-pro video  from the recent massacre, or even just that pervasive sense of hopelessness about the state of the world that is infused into the minds of young people.

I think the first pornographic image i saw on the internet was lemonparty.

I remember banged up.com or something like that when I was a kid. That has some seriously sick shit. No child porn or anything like that but sick stuff.

Seriously???

Yeah...mostly DVDs and comics, a bit of other stuff. Didn't last for long; a year or so at most as the shops obviously found regular professional providers after a while but it was a good easy gig while it lasted haha.

The best part was finding a leftover box in the garage shortly before moving and my workmates reserving things when I mentioned it. First (and probably last) time I brought dick-shaped lamps, pink fur cuffs and the likes to the office xD

To be honest spying on my child (teenager?) with a keylogger or by any other means is surely not a path I would like to take xD I would have hated it as a teen and I think it would absolutely kill the trust in the parent-child relationship. Using filters and blocking certain pages so that the kid can't access it is one thing, snooping on them is a blatant violation of trust...

This reminds me of the episode of Black Mirror where children get an implant in their head that allows their parents see everything they see xD you seen it?

No, but you're the third person to mention it so I think I should watch it xD Arkangel is the name of the episode, right?...

My first experience of porn was when I was 13 or 14 I think. I opened winmx on our shared family PC to download music and a file with the names Jenna Jameson and Briana Banks was being downloaded...I think there was an option to watch part of it before it was finished...I opened it, saw what it was, and then probably closed it pretty quickly before I was caught watching it xD

So, my older brother downloaded the first porn I ever watched xD

My first porn was German/Dutch/Norwegian (I don't know the language) magazine called Nonstop-sex (it was my Dad's), featuring a scene on the swimming pool with a Bruce Grobelaar lookalike and a woman. And it had anal which confused the fuck out of me. For years I believed that some women have two vaginas - one in the front and one in the back.

I am also trying to hunt that scene for sentimental reasons.

Beyond that, my dad had bunch of Debonairs. I will be disappointed if @Mel81x, @Asura and @AMG don't know this. It was basically like an Indian version of Mayfair. No porn, just topless Indian women with good stories and articles.

Oh I know it well. Used to live in a hostel in the late 90s and a bookstore used to stock them so someone would go get it and before you know it the entire hostel had read them over as well. Good times, then the internet came along and those books just became redundant. I remember they'd have some smashing covers as well.

When I was 16 or 17 I had a nice side gig where I'd buy porn DVDs and other stuff in Germany cheap and sell it to the newly opened sex shops in Lithuania xD

Germany is pretty much the capital of porn. If you was to name 4 things which instantly remind you of Germany/Germans then it'd be Hitler, beer, Bayern Munich and porn

Mix all four together and it's surely an all-time bestseller xD
