Thor 'Love and Thunder'

Can't really work out what they were trying to do with this... Too much attempted comedy throughout the entire film and a waste of Christian Bale's talents as Gorr being the only really serious thing in it..

Not awful by any stretch but can't help get the feeling they are starting to scrape the bottom of the barrel a bit with his character.. 6/10

No Time To Die - 7.5/10

Return to form for Craig’s final outing. The action was great, the story was compelling and had a good bit of emotion. Anna De Armas is an absolute dream, her small role was a great addition. I liked all the character, even Rami Malek made a lot from not a ton of screen time. I would still put it behind Casino Royale & Skyfall, but it’s much better than Spectre and Quantum Of Solace.

The House - 6/10

Stop motion anthology film on Netflix. Above average, but a missed opportunity.

Thirteen Lives - 8/10

This was very compelling viewing. Thought the accent from Mortensen & Farrell were a bit dodge, but it didn’t take away from the film.

The Report - 7.5/ 10

I really like these sort of film. The drama/investigation types. Similar to Dark Waters, though not as good. Still, it’s an interesting film to watch, with a great performance from Adam Driver.

Buried - 5.5/10

This isn’t as good on a second viewing. It’s maybe in part due to the overload of Ryan Reynolds in pop culture, and as a result I am a bit fed up of his face and voice. Serviceable enough drama, but not as gripping as it thinks it is.

I watched Rambo 2008, which I guess is Rambo IV.

Now I watched First Blood and thought mainly decent yet not so much the others.

This was surprising as Rambo now is a boatman in Thailand living off fish and selling dead snakes.

He gets asked by missionaries to take them up river to Burma to meet the Karens.

He is not interested and warns them of the risk as Burma is a war zone yet the devotion of the only woman makes him change his mind.

He gets them into Burma after a nasty encounter with Burmese militia who were looking to kill and rob them.

He goes back home and a month later a senior manager of the religious group says they have not heard anything for a month and need help. Rambo says he won't go and the other chap says no, we only want you to take us to where you dropped them off we have the men to get them out.

Graham Mctavish is great as the cocky and mouthy merc and Matthew Marsden plays a neat role too.

Rambo takes the mercs to to the drop-off point.

McTavish gets mightily upset when Rambo decides to come with them as Rambo doubts they have the bottle to go through with it. Then they encounter an army patrol killing villagers across a rice paddy using guns and mines. Just as the mercs discuss going back. Rambo starts killing the soldiers with his bow.

A rescue attempt from an army camp and then a cross country trip with hostages back to the boat.

Never going to be easy and loads of bloodshed.

7/10.

Smile

The missus loves a horror film so I thought I'd give this one a go at the cinema.

The film itself was decent, it had a few jumpy moments and a decent enough storyline. Won't ruin anymore of it in case anyone want's to go and see it.

7/10

Far and Away (1992) - Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman - Adventure/Drama/Romance - 8.0/10

I am growing to like Tom Cruise in films (not as Reacher though xD) and this film we watched ages ago and it came on the tv again today and me and the wife quite enjoyed it.

A young Irish couple flee to the States, but subsequently struggle to obtain land and prosper freely.

Still Tom Cruise's best role to date IMO.

Beginning to like his movies now although he as Reacher was a no goer and as our son said his acting ability is not bad and he played the Reacher role ok although he was a short-arsed little runt and not a 6ft 5inc human tank like Reacher. O.o

P.S. @nudge still idolises him  :x

The only movie with Tom Cruise that I managed to watch from start to finish and actually like despite Tom Cruise being in it was Minority Report. I also think he was fantastic in Born on the Fourth of July.

I really, really wanted to watch The Last Samurai for ages, I think it would be a perfect movie for me due to subject matter. But I can't get past the first few minutes of Tom Cruise in a drunken raging state :( xD
