I announced myself Argentinian when I was a teenager. I’ve got family in Buenos Aires even though I’ve only ever been there once in my early twenties and I was too much of an twat to experience anything other than the churrasco and the nightlife. 😩

I've actually got a mate who was born in the exact same barrio as Messi in Rosario. She lives down in the Costa del sol.

Argentinian women always seem to be very upbeat and friendly from personal experiences, you sound like you have a good one.

Did you watch the game vs Italy the other month? That was genuinely a classic Lionel Messi performance and he's been in fantastic form since.

Yeah, I watched it. Also watched his performance for PSG the other day. The chap has still got it.

My ancestors are British whom won the Falklands and sunk all those ships at Trafalgar. Then my later ancestors beat my early ancestors at cricket.

Undefeated.

Esteban Cambiasso played for my club and I'm a big fan of his. Do I qualify?

That’s more than 6 years as an Argentinian in waiting. You’re now eligible for your citizenship application I’m sure. 🤣

Suspended for 2 weeks for going to Saudi Arabia without PSG's permission.

The fans there don't like him and the owners seem underwhelmed by him. Definitely won't be signing a new contract.

Where next? A club in Saudi? MLS? Man City? Newcastle?

I remember Dodger said Messi ruined his reputation by going to PSG. I beg to differ.

Joined PSG. Half arsed his entire playing career there and diminished their Champions League chances. Won the world cup against France to piss off the PSG fans and then continued to half arse and ditch the club when ever he felt like in.

PSG Legend.

35 goals, 34 assists in 71 games is hardly half arsed.

When it comes to chances created, throughballs, key passes, etc, he's right up there with De Bruyne also. In fact he completes twice as many throughballs as De Bruyne.

We are simply seeing a different Messi now in his older age, a player whose game is more focused on his creative abilities. He can't run like he used to and is a different player. Barcelona could actually do with a player like him right now, whatever the age, so it'd be interesting to see him return.

Saying that, he plays better for Argentina than for club nowadays. Their current set up is much more suited to his game, as would Barcelona's.

I would also say that before the world cup, Neymar and Messi were a joy to watch together. For as talented as Mbappe is, he can be greedy and makes the wrong decisions too much.
