Most productive season for Ajax since 1986

Ajax has just had one of its most productive Eredivisie seasons in club history.  In only 2 years previously has Ajax scored more than 119 competition goals.

The record could be traced back in the books, going quite far back.  It was achieved in 1966-1967 when the champion from Amsterdam scored 122 goals.

1980s
The only other season in which more goals were scored was in 1985-1986, when Ajax scored 120 goals, but did not win the championship.

@Panna King - Do you ever go to their matches?

I'd love to see an Ajax match in Amsterdam.

Yes I go and watch them but don't have time to see them all the time as I am back and forward from London,  its best to see them play against a bigger team as the atmosphere as well as the football is entertaining for a neutral.

Just an incredibly respectable club that has one of the best histories in all of football, with a quarter of the budget available.

Well they do not need a huge budget for transfer apart from buying a few experience players time after time, most of their funds go in to their youth development and coaching. Plus they have footballing people running the club from top to bottom.

The Argentinian has been linked with Ajax for weeks but now Defensa Y Justicia have confirmed the deal, pending a medical.

The 21-year-old, who can play in the centre or on the left of defence, will now travel to Amsterdam to wrap up the final details.

Martinez made 57 times for Defensa Y Justicia, scoring three goals. No confirmation of a transfer fee has been announced yet or a length of contract.

The Netherlands recently won the Under 17 European cup, the majority of the team was from Ajax. Star Player Brobbey a big centre forward with a similar build to Lukaku at such a young age,

Bobby Brobbey is having an incredible season. The Dutch striker has scored 34 goals in 35 appearances for the under 19s this season aged just 17. That's to go with the 26 goals in 24 games for the under 17s last season. Brobbey, who was born in Amsterdam in 2002, which makes me feel sickeningly old, has also made two appearances for Jong Ajax, the club's second side, this season without scoring.

The teenager has already won silverware with the national side too having been part of the Netherlands' team that won the 2018 UEFA European Under 17s Championships Brobbey is from quite the footballing family as his brothers, Kevin Luckassen and Derrick Luckassen, play for Almere City and PSV respectively.

Unuvar is the youngest ever scorer at 15 years old, he is tipped for huge things.

GK Tein Troost - Feyenoord - Age 17

GK Calvin Raatsie - Ajax - Age 17

DF: Van der Sloot - Feyenoord - Age 16

DF Hoever - Liverpool - Age 17

DF Bogarde - Hoffenheim - Age 16

DF van Ottele - NEC - Age 17

DF Kasanwirjo - Ajax - Age 16

DF Salah-Eddine - Ajax - Age 17

DF Maatsen - Chelsea - Age 17

DF Rensch - Ajax - Age 16

MF Taabouni - AZ - Age 17

MF Taylor - Ajax - Age 17

MF Proper - NEC - Age 17

MF de Schutter - PSV Age 17

MF Unuvar - Ajax - Age 15

FW Hansen - Ajax - Age 17

FW Allouch - AZ - Age 17

FW Brobbey - Ajax - Age 17

FW Bannis - Feyenoord - Age 17

FW Sankou - Stoke City - Age 17

Erik Ten Hag renews with Ajax till 2022

This is great news! Love this coach and really hope he can overcome the playing staff departures.

He was the key to Ajax's recent success, he has worked very closely with Guardiola at Munich so that is the nearest to Cruyff you can get, I hope he stays at Ajax for a while.  The new players coming through the Ajax system now over the next few season will be such an exciting time for the club.

There’s a book by a Spanish journalist that was permitted to live from inside the whole story of Guardiola at Bayern and Ten Hag’s name comes up countless times. It’s really interesting mate and you should read it. I’ll find the name and I’ll post it here. ;)

Dutch soccer champions Ajax have announced a new long-term partnership with beer giant Budweiser until June 2025.

The financial terms of the agreement have not been made public, but Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf says the deal will see the Anheuser Busch InBev (AB InBev) brand, which trades under the name Bud in the Netherlands, pay the Eredivisie club more than €12 million (US$14.9 million).

The tie-up covers both Ajax’s men’s and women’s teams, adding to Budweiser’s extensive soccer portfolio, which includes a longstanding partnership with the Fifa World Cup.

Long gone are the days where clubs promoted local brands. It’s sad, very sad but if Ajax want to really capitalise on their recent international success, they have to make the most of it and get those football fanatics in other continents on board.

They are still selling Heineken in the stadiums but now Budweiser will be sold.  Bud is not very common on Draft in The Netherlands due to all the Dutch and Belgian draft beers.    So it is a good move from Bud to have this selling in a 55,000 stadium.    I think the only thing Bud have exclusive is one of the Sky boxes at The Johan Cruyff arena that will only sell Bud.   Also bud will have advertising in the Stadium.

Overall its a great deal for Ajax, it shows their recent success plus the work done by Van der Sar and Overmars are taking the club to another level.

Dutch soccer giants Ajax have renewed their contract with their main shirt sponsor Ziggo for a further two years, in a deal that could be extended through 2024.

The Eredivisie champions last renewed with Ziggo, a Dutch pay-TV network, in October 2018, extending their partnership through 2020. After a successful season for the Amsterdam-based club, the two parties have decided to add two more years to that arrangement and an option for two more.

Ziggo, which first partnered with Ajax in 2015, has been paying around €8 million a year, plus as much as €2 million in bonuses up to this point, but according to reports that sum is now set to increase. According to the club’s accounts, Ajax brought in around €28.9 million in total sponsorship revenue in 2018.

Edwin van der Sar, Ajax chief executive, said: "We are very grateful to Ziggo for the trust placed in us and the way in which they, as the main sponsor, give substance to our cooperation.

“Ziggo will also organise several activities and promotions for our fans this season.”

The network – a joint venture between Vodafone and Liberty Global - retains its prominent branding across Ajax’s physical and digital assets and will now also provide exclusive Ajax content via Ziggo Sport as part of the extension.

Marcel de Groot, Vodafone-Ziggo director, added: "With our new partnership, customers can now enjoy Ajax even more than before. From unique win promotions, with ultimate Ajax experiences such as the ‘Golden Seats’, to exclusive Ajax content on Ziggo Sport. Think of the weekly program Inside Ajax, but also the live broadcasts of European preliminaries and practice duels.”

Its a good deal, Dutch Beer will still be sold in the stadium but also now Bud want to come into the Dutch beer market, its a good way for them to start in a big stadium.     Ajax also get 2 million a season from the company so its not bad.
