Seems McBurnie is injured, and with Griffiths still absent leaves a glaring weakness in the team. Personally would like to see:

Marshall

O'Donnell - Soutar - McKenna - Robertson

McGinn - McGregor

Forrest - McLean - Fraser

McNulty

Armstrong needs to be playing far more regularly to have him back in the team just yet.

Soutar and McKenna are still young, and could be a centre back pairing for years to come. Might as well start figuring them out now.

Not a fine performance, by any means, but a victory and plenty of things to learn from.

Mulgrew has long since peaked as a footballer, and even then I'd be uncomfortable with him playing. Never mind being the right sided centre back. Being unable to control and pass the ball with his right foot slowed down any recycling of possession and lost precious time tonight.

In midfield, Mclean was the only player sitting with McGinn and MacGregor playing further forward. To make the most of the players in the team and the type of game to be played against Cyprus, they needed only one to be further advanced.

When Robertson overlaps, with Fraser loving to cut inside, it just created congestion with him running into space already occupied.

Plus, when any attack broke down McLean had limited options beside him and inevitably had to pass it back to the centre backs.

Brophy would be far more suited to the game on Tuesday night than today. With a defence sitting deep, he doesn't have the qualities to cause them enough problems. Burke, with his physical presence, caused them far more problems in his limited time.

Also, on a more general note. The attacking corners were dreadful, and almost always led to Cyprus breaking in transition. Changing the personnel in defensive positions for corners might help.

Genius tactics to funnel Belgium's best chances to Lukaku.

We would probably be 2 or 3 down if not for his bowfin finishing.

Could have been worse considering how weak the lineout was. Didn't gift Belgium any properly clear chances but Hazard and KdB were just too good.

Need a more mobile and progressive central defence. Tierney and one of Souttar/Bates/Findlay would really help us defend a little higher and play out a bit better.

RB is a problem position and there's no real solution. Tierney was not bad there if we can spare him, and O'Donnell will hopefully get a bit better.

Burke doesn't work as a striker. His movement is terrible and his finishing isn't consistent enough. Brophy lacks his pace or presence but he fights for second balls and makes the right runs. You could even play Fletcher as a focal point and let Fraser and Forrest run beyond him. Or even play an attacking mid like Armstrong or Christie as a false nine to be more counterattacking.

Considering the selection issues, and the length of time Clarke has had, there's really nothing to judge over the last two games.

A game at the end of the (absurdly long) season, against the No.1 team in the world, with a weakened team...

It wasn't bad. These are not the games that they will be judged on. Next up is Belgium and Russia at home. Going to be another huge test.
