Frankfurt might be fucked now.

They have a lot of money now and if they some good scouting in place I am sure they can get someone decent.   They have an extremely average team though with the likes of de Guzman, Jetro Willems, Chandler, Sow... so now they have over 100 million to spend on their squad from 2 player sales.

Quite funny that if he was good enough, Munich are so desperate to sign forward players and his name didn't even come up.

Just because Bayern don’t sign someone doesn’t make that striker shit 😂

Obviously there is an inferiority complex with fans from around Europe regarding the money English teams have as you’d expect them to have got over it now we’re coming to two decades of financial and commercial dominance.

But West Ham signings a striker who scored 19 goals, assisted with 12 last season for £45m is market value. A 20 goal season striker is worth their weight in gold.

He got 14 goals in the League in the Bundesliga, even a striker Kramaric that only scored 2 goals in England a couple seasons ago and 1 of them was a penalty scored 17 last season last season, look at the bigger picture.  West Ham are terrible at business they have gone out and done this signing out of our pure desperation.  Mostly class players in Germany are bought and stock pilled by Munich, it was an example that I was giving that 45 million is laughable for this player.

Haller transfer confirmed now 45 million pounds.  I hope Utrecht get a large percentage out of this deal.

10% apparently; good business for them.

Kramaric not doing well at Leicester wasn't his fault at all. If anything it was our (as a club) fault and not playing to his strengths to get the best out of him and then consequently the best for the club.

Also you can point to his time here but he was only 23 when he signed in January (hence the lower signing fee) and only started 6 games in 2014/15 season. Fell out of favour in 2015/16 season hence the loan move to Hoffenheim which almost reignited him as a player.

Poor example to use him in my opinion.

It shows you that the standard is poorer in Germany, all I am just saying to pay 45 Million for Haller is laughable from West Ham, Kramaric would never go for 45 million and he scored more goals.

But there's other things to factor. Frankfurt only simply slapped that price tag on him and West Ham were the ones to stump up the cash for him. May also depend on length of contract left to buy out and how much Frankfurt valued him - even if he was average, they've now got £45m to re-invest in to the squad. Not to mention the Jovic money too.

But he has 19 goals in total. 14 in the league is still good. 9 assists (not 12) also a good amount, contributed towards 28 goals last season.

There is little between the Premier League and Bundesliga apart from the fact there are more teams that could win the league in England, but really there’s only ever 1-2 teams clearly better than the best German side at any one time. If he has contributed towards 28 goals in Germany there’s no reason why he can’t in England, previous transfers have shown the goal scoring records in Germany are transferable to England.

£45m might seem steep but we all know there is a tax English teams have to pay when buying from abroad.

45 million isn't that much in today's market. It's a typical fee that a mid table side would pay for their main summer signing now (Sigurdsson, Tielemans, Richarlison, Jimenez, Felipe Anderson, Haller). It is pretty crazy but that's the going rate.

If Haller is good enough to be considered West Hams top summer signing then he is worth about 45 million these days in the Premier League. A quick look at his stats show he sustained 3 seasons of scoring about 1 in 2 in Holland, then he had an okay first season in Germany before returning to 1 in 2 last season. If they've scouted him properly and he fits into their system reasonably well I think it's a good signing. 25 is a good age as well.

Didn't think he'd be such a polarising figure already.

You say that like it's something English football fans should be proud of.

As with our politics, cuisine and San Miguel-fuelled behaviour on holiday, many Europeans find the money English clubs spend on bang average players to be embarrassing and vulgar.

Sebastien Haller's weight of 82kg, with gold being worth £36,705 per kilo, makes Haller worth just over £3mil.

So West Ham have surprise surprise overpaid.

It’s nothing to be proud of, nothing to be embarrassed by. There’s more money in the English game, this naturally means inflation of prices.

It’s as silly to start gloating about it as it is to be bitter about it

Mahrez and Kante is a different example, they were scouted very well and unheard of so they were bought for a small amount of money that is why they moved on to bigger teams.

Haller is 25 years old and is going 45 Million! it is a signing out of pure desperation. He has done nothing but because West Ham have seen he scored a few goals,  I can guarantee he will be a flop there.

Panna king is proved right again!
