I took this one ages ago. It has a lot questions but I noticed the UI has changed and it's fucking horrible now. So I don't blame you guys if you don't take it. I found myself sweating at a lot of the questions "I hate big business but I hate big government more". Ultimately the quiz boils down to 'da gubment vs. the corporations maaaan'. I hate government interference, bureaucracy, over-regulation, so I look more capitalist than I feel I actually am. I've always thought a mixture of public and private organisations are the best bet at a fruitful society. The government for instance, can offer ambulance and fire services but so can the free-market but I don't believe the same rings true for military or law-enforcement.

I was spekd as a liberal but I assume that is the American idea of a liberal, so it has absolutely no meaning to me and I might have wasted my time O.oxD

xD Bottom left but I don't recall them ever putting the labels on the graph. I assume that is just liberal left.

You silly billy. There is over 30 different results!  Liberal is one of them and this is what it says:

Quote

Liberalism is characterised by the holding of liberal views, a willingness to respect or accept behaviour or opinions different from one’s own, and openness to new ideas.

Liberalism is typically favourable to or respectful of individual rights and freedoms, favouring individual liberty, free trade, and moderate political and social reform.

This is mine

Quote

A laissez-faire political philosophy advocating only minimal state intervention in the lives of citizens coupled with an economic system in which trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

Its adherents believe that private morality is not the state’s affair, and that therefore activities such as drug use and prostitution that arguably harm no one but the participants should not be illegal. Libertarianism shares elements with anarchism, although it is generally associated more with conservatism, chiefly in the US.

Shame that term of a liberal has been hijacked by people who really aren't liberals who keep calling themselves liberal

I blame the fusion of entertainment and news in the liberal media. John Oliver, and John Stewart in particular. They champion the liberal flag but both seem to be quite  close minded in their own ideals.

This one's been doing the rounds recently:

Think I got classical liberal but it gives you a score in 4 different categories as well as a label.

I'm always surprised by how liberal I turn out to be with these things, because I may as well be Richard Spencer himself in comparison to my peers.

I scored Libertarianism on this one as well.

For all my crude humor and shit stiring I am really quite moderate (by the standards of 10 years ago) . Not at all surprised with the result. It's these new fangle kids with their dumb and ridiculous standards of 'oppression' and 'patriarchy' trying to make me look like an evil twat because I don't think we need to change walk/don't walk lights, at cost of the tax payer, to illuminations of women instead of men.

If you're not hard right,  you're left.  And if you're not hard left,  you're right.

That's how the spectrum works now.

That is just economics though (in consideration of these tests). When people (in particular Americans and their media) are referring to the 'left v right' dichotomy they are actually referring to social politics. The economics of the discourse is usually irrelevant as the majority of people don't understand the ramifications of socialised v capitalistic economics. Do you think Jenny from Berkley understand what 'free medicare' entails? Or do you think she just likes the sounds of 'free medical for everyone' because it sounds great on paper and fits the mantras of 'equality'? The same applies to Johnathan on the right. He only sees 'free medicare' as a slow bureaucratic mess that clogs up the system and raises taxes. The reality of it something 'free medicare' is both of those worlds, while it's great that it's 'free' (more so for those that pay less in tax) chances are that it will be slow and inefficient due to the larger strain it has on the medical professionals. There is a reason why rich Canadians forgo the Canadian health care system and pay out of pocket in America for private health care.
