Next set of fixtures:

Leicester 0-0 Brighton (-2 for Leicester, +1 for Brighton)

Tottenham 2-0 West Ham (+3 for Tottenham, -3 for West Ham)

Manchester United 3-0 Sheffield United (no change)

Newcastle 1-1 Aston Villa (no change)

Norwich 0-1 Everton (no change)

Wolves 1-0 Bournemouth (no change)

Liverpool 4-0 Crystal Palace (no change)

Burnley 1-0 Watford (+3 for Burnley, -3 for Watford)

Southampton 0-2 Arsenal (-3 for Southampton, +3 for Arsenal)

Chelsea 2-1 Manchester City (no change)

Standings as of 26 June:

Burnley +17

Crystal Palace +11

Leicester +9

Newcastle +6

Everton / Liverpool +5

Brighton +4

Manchester United +0

Chelsea -2

Bournemouth / Wolves / Arsenal -6

Southampton -7

Tottenham -8

West Ham -10

Watford / Man City -11

Headlines: Another +3 for Burnley gives them a commanding lead heading into the final stretch while Leicester lose ground having led the standings for much of the season. A lot of status quo in the middle but big change at the bottom. Tottenham finally climb from last place for the first time since the Autumn, Arsenal also climb a few spots while devastating 3 point hits for West Ham and Watford send them to the bottom of the barrel along with Man City who were unable to improve on last season's defeat at Stamford Bridge.

Most recent set of fixtures:

Aston Villa 0-1 Wolves (no change)

Watford 1-3 Southampton (-1 for Watford, +2 for Southampton)

Crystal Palace 0-1 Burnley (-3 for Crystal Palace, +3 for Burnley)

Brighton 0-3 Manchester United (-3 for Brighton, +3 for Manchester United)

Bournemouth 1-4 Newcastle (-1 for Bournemouth, +2 for Newcastle)

Arsenal 4-0 Norwich (no change)

Everton 2-1 Leicester (+3 for Everton, -3 for Leicester)

West Ham 3-2 Chelsea (+2 for West Ham, -1 for Chelsea)

Sheffield United 3-1 Tottenham (no change)

Manchester City 4-0 Liverpool (no change)

Changes in every game aside from those involving promoted sides and the City Liverpool fixture mix things up quite a lot. Up to date standings:

Burnley +20

Crystal Palace / Newcastle / Everton +8

Leicester +6

Liverpool +5

Manchester United +3

Brighton +1

Chelsea -3

Southampton -5

Wolves / Arsenal -6

Bournemouth -7

Tottenham / West Ham -8

Man City -11

Watford -12

Burnley now have a seemingly unassailable lead with 6 games remaining after inflicting a perfect six point swing over nearest competitors Crystal Palace. The three point hit for The Eagles sees them level with Newcastle and Everton who made gains here. The latter repaid the 3 point swing inflicted upon them by Leicester, whose capitulation continues, earlier in the season. Man Utd swap places with opponents Brighton with another three point swing. West Ham edge away from the bottom while Man City's win over Liverpool meant that they maintained their -11, preventing them from joining Watford in sliding further adrift.

This weekend's preview:

Norwich vs Brighton (N/A as Norwich are newly-promoted)

Leicester vs Crystal Palace (away win last season, Leicester will overtake Palace in the standings with a draw or a win, good news for Burnley)

Manchester United vs Bournemouth (home win last season, a repeat looks likely)

Wolves vs Arsenal (home win last season, these teams are currently tied on -6 points)

Chelsea vs Watford (home win last season, opportunity for Watford to make some points up but seems unlikely)

Burnley vs Sheffield United (no change for Burnley here as they face a promoted opponent, they'll take that)

Newcastle vs West Ham (away win last season, great chance for Newcastle to close the gap on Burnley and move into a clear 2nd)

Liverpool vs Aston Villa (Liverpool to stay on +5 here with no fixture to compare to last season)

Southampton vs Manchester City (away win last season, the best City can do here is win again to stay on -11)

Tottenham vs Everton (draw last season, an unlikely Everton win would put them back into positive double figures, Spurs will be eyeing another improvement with a win)

I genuinely forgot our game last season. Had to Google it and then was reminded of that absolute borefest on NYD xD

I was going to do a full update here but with six gameweeks to catch up on I'm just going to go ahead and post the final standings:

Burnley +19

Leicester +10

Newcastle +8

Brighton +4

Crystal Palace +3

Liverpool +2

Everton +1

Man Utd / Chelsea -1

Wolves / Arsenal -4

Tottenham -5

Bournemouth -7

West Ham -9

Watford -13

Man City -14

The stories over the past six gameweeks pretty much summed up as follows:

- Burnley's differential score peaked at +23, a few dropped points late on didn't stop them winning the differential cup comfortably.

- Leicester and Newcastle sort of levelled out over the past six games while the other top three contenders Crystal Palace, Everton and Liverpool fell away significantly with underwhelming run-ins. As a result, a late charge from Brighton sees them finish a respectable 4th.

- Not much to comment on in mid-table. Tottenham briefly flirted with the break-even point with a host of improvements over the past few weeks having been bottom of the table for over half of the campaign.

- Bournemouth prevented a double-figured negative score with a win at Everton on the final day of the season.

- Man City's loss to Southampton saw them slip to the bottom of the table and they stayed there despite Watford's best efforts to claim the wooden spoon in the closing weeks.

I will run a thread like this for next season and I will try to find a way to account for the comparisons between last season's results against teams that were relegated to this season's results against newly-promoted sides. Hopefully a few of you found this interesting to track over the course of the season!
