Papu Gomez - Does he deserve an Argentina call up?

A hypothetical thread - he won't get a call up for the same reasons that Franco Armani doesn't get called up. Messi doesn't know him.

 

However, does he deserve it? Icardi will never get the call up because of rumours that Messi is friends with Maxi Lopez and that will cause definite misharmony.

 

Personally, I say yes. He's shown consistency all season and given how much Argentina's forwards underperform, I think he deserves a chance at least as a sub. He's shown a very high level and some clubs may come knocking in the summer, although his price won't be huge for the club and age currently if he does end up moving.
