Dave Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Based on his performances last season I would have liked him to stay. However the reality is his wages for his ability were an absolute piss take for his first two seasons. He joined the club on more money than everybody other than Cabaye as he was a free agent. Which when you consider we had Zaha, Bolasie, Jedinak, Dann, Ledley all playing consistently well at a higher level is rather laughable. In his last season he did enough to show that he is a Premier League quality player. However from what's been said he wanted an improved contract and after having our trousers pulled down for so long we were not willing to meet his demands. Transfer negotiations resumed multiple times too but a deal could never be reached. Based on what has been said about him it seems like he has an over inflated opinion of himself. I think deep down he always felt confident that if we couldn't meet his demands another Premier League would because he's a free agent. Whether that be a return to Wolves, or a move to somebody like Huddersfield or Cardiff. However now it's the end of September and he hasn't got a club he's thought "shit" and dropped down a level. If they get the Bakary Sako we had in his last year of his contract then they've got a potentially very good asset that would play a role in their promotion push. If they've got the Bakary Sako we had for the two seasons before that then, well, good luck.
Dave Posted October 2, 2018 Author Posted October 2, 2018 All been confirmed. Good luck to both parties.
