Recently, the US lost 5-1 to Colombia. Mexico lost 4-0 to Uruguay. Both Colombia and Uruguay look good. The US and Mexico look bad.

I also believe that now the US seem to be prioritizing Nations League over the Gold Cup.

I feel like the US should go the farthest of the Concacaf teams similar to the 2016 Copa. They finished 4th in that, so maybe they can repeat that feat. Plus, the US are the hosts, so they should have a lot of support at the games. This is like preparation for hosting the 2026 World Cup.

I read that they are also trying to bring in Peter González. He was born in Spain to Dominican parents. He represented the Dominican Republic U15s in 2017.
