  1. Sam Allardyce insists he is still the right man to lead Everton and says he is planning for the long-term at Goodison Park.

Allardyce faces mounting pressure at Everton with the Toffees languishing in 11th place in the Premier League, following a run of just two wins from the last 12 games in all competitions.

Everton are in danger of being dragged back into the relegation battle, with just seven points separating themselves from the drop zone, and Allardyce is determined to halt the club's slide down the table.

To be honest I love Adrian Durham's daily slot and how he winds up the less intelligent Arsenal fans of which there are quite a few.

I think he's great. You see Jim White and others trying to be wind up merchants on that station and it's just cringe. Durham is the goat of that field.

  3. A travel company that has organised trips to all of Arsenal's away games in the Europa League this season has cancelled their service to AC Milan, because of a lack of interest.

SportOptions has run trips to away games for over 20 years and they took over 150 Arsenal fans to Ostersunds for the previous round - but they have seen a big slump in demand for the first leg of the last-16 tie at the San Siro on Thursday.

The company's boss, Miles Saward, says a number of factors have come into play.

  4. Pep Guardiola has backed Arsene Wenger to make the "right decision" regarding his Arsenal future, following Thursday's 3-0 loss to Manchester City.

Arsenal have lost five of their last seven games, twice at the hands of City, and find themselves 10 points adrift of the top four, with the Europa League their only remaining chance to win any silverware.

  5. Paul Merson believes Arsene Wenger's reign at Arsenal is coming to an end claiming he does not expect the Frenchman to be in charge next season.

Arsenal are 10 points adrift of the top four after the second successive 3-0 defeat over Manchester City this week, with the runaway Premier League leaders now 30 points clear of the north London club.

Many supporters opted to stay away from the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night in protest against the recent abject results, with the defeat by Pep Guardiola's side the club's joint-heaviest loss at home in the Premier League era.

Arsene Wenger believes Arsenal still have time to salvage their season despite being 10 points off the top four places.

It was a case of déjà vu as Manchester City swatted aside Arsenal 3-0 in Pep Guardiola's 100th game in charge on Thursday night.

After meeting in the Carabao Cup final four days earlier, where City triumphed 3-0, a huge gulf between the two clubs was on show again in freezing conditions at the Emirates Stadium.

  7. Arsenal have recorded a £25.1m profit after player sales eased the cost of missing out on the Champions League.

The club's latest financial figures, which account for the six months leading up to November 30, 2017, show a £23.4m drop in turnover after the Gunners failed to qualify for Europe's elite club competition for the first time in 20 years.

  8. Arsene Wenger says he plans to see out the remaining year and a half of his Arsenal contract amid speculation he could leave the Emirates at the end of the season.

The 68-year-old signed a two-year deal at the end of last season but, with the Gunners looking likely to miss out on the top four of the Premier League for a second successive season, there have been suggestions Wenger could leave a year early.

Arsenal released Harry Kane from their youth setup because he was "a bit chubby" and "not very athletic", according to Liam Brady.

Kane admitted to having a "chip on his shoulder" after being released by the Gunners at the age of eight, but says the decision was the "best thing that ever happened" and he scored his 101st Premier League goal for Tottenham against their north London rivals at the weekend.

Brady, who was Arsenal's academy director, admits the club made a mistake when they decided to allow Kane to leave but praised the striker for his attitude.

On-loan Chelsea defender Matt Miazga has been fined by his club Vitesse Arnhem for grabbing the groin area of an opponent.

Miazga was playing for the Dutch side in an Eredivise match against Heerenveen on January 20 when he clashed with Denzel Dumfries.

The incident went unpunished at the time, but Miazga's club have now issued the 22-year-old with an unspecified fine.

    xDxD

Alexis Sanchez has been given a suspended 16-month jail sentence in Spain after pleading guilty to tax fraud while playing for Barcelona.

Sanchez, who recently left Arsenal to join Manchester United, reached an agreement with the Spanish Attorney General to pay back the tax he failed to pay, a sum of just under £900,000, plus a fine of £525,000.

He was also handed the jail sentence but will not have to spend any time in prison unless he commits a similar offence within the next two years.

    Lucky fucker.

  12. Macclesfield Town's players have told Sky Sports News they have not been paid their January wages.

The Silkmen lead the race for a return to the EFL, sitting one point ahead of Aldershot Town at the top of the Vanarama National League with 15 games remaining.

Macclesfield's form has taken something of a nosedive since the turn of the year, with draws against struggling Solihull Moors and Torquay United, a 6-0 hammering at the hands of AFC Fylde and a first-round FA Trophy exit against FC Halifax Town.
