    My thoughts.  SPOILERS

    3. The womans rumble was as ALMOST good as it possibly could be. The only downs were the women in the final 4, 3 and 2. And the missuse of Bayley

No one wants the Bellas wrestling again, and no one believes they would win the rumble, so they were wastes of final 4 spots. If the last 4 was Sasha or Becky from the number 1 spot, Bayley, Asuka and nia, with maybe beth or Trish then we have a believable final 4. The two bellas, and Sahsa with Asuka was a bad for and Sasha getting eliminated when she did was a waste. No one wants a bella to win, and there's no way it would have been booked as so. If it had been Sasha and Asuka on the apron at the end I would have been on the edge of my seat, not just necking my beer booing Nicky waiting for Asuka to kick the ugly skank off.

Now you see, I can forgive them for that. The Bella's doing relatively well was going to happen due to the total divas show actually competing with viewer levels of all the housewife shows, which is what they were initially hoping for (possibly even better). They know that wrestling fans don't have much time for this, or how the Bella's have managed to get these lucrative positions, so the crowd and viewers were emotively going to want them to get eliminated. Whilst somebody like Sacha Banks can behave as arrogant and confident as she did but the viewers wouldn't necessarily be emotively booing her.  The further Nikki was getting, the more I was thinking "please don't mess this up Vince", just because of how favourable she's been treated previously. So in all it ended up being a final two of somebody people really wanted to see win, against somebody they didn't but was 'best for business' which is possibly the most emotive showdown in terms of crowd reaction they could have had.

Also not having Rhonda involved was great. Having a UFC star debut and make wrestlers look second rate at a historic occasion would have dented the occasion.

  3. Couple of RR opinions:

    - Didn't really enjoy any of the singles or tag matches.

    - The men's RR for two thirds of it was terrible with a flat atmosphere. I think that was due to the astonishment it was on so early and it felt like a mid card contest. The last third pulled it back though and the right person won.

    - The women's RR couldn't have really been any better. The right returns and the right set of action. I don't like the constant publicity The Bella's get but the whole thing was scripted well and the right person won.

    - In hindsight I'm glad the women's match was on last. The actual wrestling for most parts was better than what the men put on. Two men in particular who always divide opinion were very monotonous and robotic. They got booed as it is but had it of been the other way round I reckon the boos would have been louder.

    'CITY RESTRAINED BY BUDGET'

Pep Guardiola says Manchester City are not always able to pay high transfer fees and meet player's wage demands as the club is operating within a defined budget.

He said: "When you want to handle four competitions sometimes you have to be lucky with injuries. Otherwise you need 22 top players for every position. People don't believe this, but today 22 top players is too expensive to buy, even [for] City.

"Their salaries we cannot pay. There are budgets for the transfers and we cannot pay. In the future, it may change but we haven't paid more than £80m-£100m for one player. We cannot pay that right now, it is the truth.

"That's why we need the academy to fight. Of course, we spend a lot money but it is the same money as a lot of other teams. I can assure you we are not the only team in the world that spend money."

Apart from the goat Stone Cold coming out the 25th anniversary show was meh.

The constant references to how great the product once was started doing my head in. I don't want to hear how great the product once was. I want the talent that's around right now to create their own legacy.

What the fuck does John Terry’s wage have to do with Southend United? Terry played at the top of his game and in his prime was a multi-medal winning, highly respected footballer in Europe and therefore, justified his wages.

Southend United used to regularly flout tax bills, then gain a winding-up order, only to pay the bill and subsequent fine once money had been sourced from directors, it was regular for them to do that for a few years.

I’ve never understood the “[Player X] earns £250,000 a week whilst little old [Team Y] need £75,000 by the end of the month to survive, why doesn’t Premier League players stump up” argument, if that’s the argument you’re trying to make. Top players shouldn’t have to help clubs who have been mismanaged.

It was an example that Paul Sturrock and others have used about the situation, and not for the reasons you've just ranted about. They were ashamed of the way the club was previously run when there's people in the same industry making a lot more money. It was a case of "we can't be in that situation again when this is happening a couple of league's above us". If Leicester pay off their debt early there' every chance Chester will develop that attitude.

Chester apparently need £50,000 to be saved, yet are due £55,000 from us in June through an installment on defender Sam Hughes that we signed off them in the summer.

While I hope we just let them have the money, I do worry that it's not actually helping solve the problem, and more just patching over it before it comes back again in future. Clubs who end up in these scenarios have something fundamentally wrong with them and giving them the money doesn't fix that. It's akin to giving someone homeless some money to spend and they go and buy alcohol.

But as stated, I hope we bring forward the payment and let them have it. We probably pay Kelechi Iheanacho that money in about 4 days and we're due to pay it to them anyway.

Would be a shame for them if they did end up resorting to selling their sell-on clause to us as I think that's the single best way a smaller club can make money nowadays. Their fans really rate him as well and he's having a good year in our youth team.

Really? That's your justification? Just pay it early and hope they learn.

Southend learned from the twenty grand debt that nearly put them out of business because of the public shame that John Terry was on seven times more a week.

    Its called ambition.

Its quite easy to be a scout and a journalist though. Most people, even in England are that. Well, not scouts but managers or coaches.

Anything else you're planning to achieve this year Brian? Maybe a Managerial role in a more lucrative South American league? Or why don't you become an agent yourself?

I've been looking at more career options involved in football. I've been looking to become a scout as well as I love recommending players as well as having a database on them - mostly U23. One thing I've been doing recently is speaking to a few agents about recommending moves to certain players. I still don't have the power to actually go through with that, but step by step.

I won't say who I've been talking about but I want to target more commonwealth markets.

I don't know how you find the time to be a journalist, a club chairman, and a scout. You truly are a credit to the human race Brian.

    What channel is it on?

Series is over now. They'e got a deal to film another season next year but they've lost a lot of talent.

The older stuff is on Netflix.

  12. I watched parts of Wrestle Kingdom 12 as I like a lot of the Ring Of Honor guys they use. The ending to the Okada / Naito match shows why they'll always struggle to make it globally. Nobody had a clue what Okada was saying as there was no subtitles.

So a women's Royal Rumble will be happening. Don't think it's a bad idea but the way they announced it was atrocious. Stopped the brawl they were having and they assembled in a line quietly behind Stephanie McMahon with them then hugging and crying together after the announcement. Made all the women look small time.

It was terrible. As is the fact Charlotte and Bliss will not be in it. Combined with the fact Rhonda Rousey will get to bury people too. Fast forward.

How's Timmy (TFM) done for Crystal Palace so far this season? @Thibaut

I like him. He's quick, strong and good for his age. He's a long way off playing for United at the minute because nobody knows his best position as he's played in about 4 or 5 different positions as a 7/10. I think over time he will become a center midfielder but he needs to learn how to read a game and position himself better first.

  15. @Fairy In Boots everything Omega does pretty much turns in to gold. Watching the moves guys like him and Will Osprey do is like watching the stuff you used to be able to do on all the PlayStation games that couldn't be real.

@Tanksie I agree about The Fashion Police but the script writers have longed it out a bit. I don't think Americans realise how funny they are sometimes. That said I didn't mind the Daniel Bryan ending to continue the story, I expected AJ to make Jinder look credible and at least there's a clean finish to the women's match and everybody can move on.
