It's hard for me to rate all in. There was a light under the screen which meant I could hardly see it. Gonna watch it tonight and then I'll have more of an idea. The atmosphere was great for the main event though. And due to not knowing if danielson was going to retire or not it almost felt like a real sport. I went to dynamite and collision as well so that's a lot of time I have spent at wrestling shows this week

It felt like most AEW pay per views in the sense that you knew everybody would perform and the best way to enjoy it was to forget how they got there.

Like Ospreay, MJF, Swerve, Bryan etc are all excellent. You just have to forget MJF has tried to get boos in America for being Mr America and Bryan won a number one contender tournament yet still put his career on the line.

  2. Im not too bothered about Ricochet. I enjoy his matches for what they are but jesus for a guy who struggles to exhibit charisma on TV he comes across like such a douche. Like he started arguing with one of his fans last week because they said they'll now watch the highlights of AEW because hes on it. I want to see him and Ospreay again though, given how much Ospreay has improved in the last 7+ years.

Those Lucha Underground producers back in the day deserve to be working in Hollywood now. They had Ricochet looking charismatic on camera, Pentagon looking like a 6ft+ monster and Rick Knox looking like a competent referee.

  3. A much better second half from Palace yesterday. It's frustrating that Parish and Dougie treat August as a pre season period but there's good signs for the future.

Hopefully Doucoure can get up to full fitness over the next two weeks as that will feel like a new signing alongside Wharton.

I think special praise has to go to Dean Henderson. I thought he had his best game for Palace yesterday, and I don't think it's a coincidence that it's happened as soon as the competition for his place left.

  4. Ruthless start by Barcelona, growing in confidence every game whilst Ancelotti has to figure out how to fit the three superstars that all want to drift in to wide left position in to the same team.

Think Simeone's rotation will be a hindrance this season now Atletico have spent some money. Signing a confidence player like Sorloth and then bringing him off after he scored because he wasn't contributing enough elsewhere screams poor man management from somebody who should know much better.

  5. I wouldnt be adverse to them doing this for the FA Cup now they've scrapped replays. Youd imagine the revenue a Cambridge would get for playing Manchester United on BBC would far supersede a replay against a Stoke. The chances of a famous upset like what Bradford did a decade ago now would be multiplied too.

  6. I get why he wants to join us. With Kane's form seemingly dipping since April and hardly being a spring chicken there is an opening for an English striker to really make a statement over the next two seasons for the England squad. He probably looks at the way we've developed players as the ideal catapult for him.

As for the team, well two wing backs, two center backs and two attacking midfielders are far more urgent position that need filling. I dont know if competition would benefit Mateta either who seems to thrive on confidence. It's one of those moves that feels like we will say in three or four years was a good buy but the start will have a "whats the point" vibe about it. As we've seen with Dean Henderson.

  7. In light of the developments with John Textor this week I did some digging on his other clubs, and he's drifted from "his hearts in the right place" to "he's too erratic to own a football club" for me.

He's put the whole Lyon team up for sale as he needs to raise 100m euros to appease FFP. He's spent over 100m euros on players this summer (about 50m on Forest backup players to help them hit PSR!?!). I know a lot of this will be amortised, but it's an odd approach to take.

He's also facing a six year ban from Brazillian football after making allegations of corruption.

Kieran Maguire recently compared him running Everton to that of Cellino running Leeds United.

There's a lot of red flags here.

Do you think you could lose Guehi and Eze by Friday too? Seems to have gone a tad quiet but that would be a killer for you after losing Olise.

Newcastle seem to be very good at talking to the media but there doesn't seem to be much action. Guehi's suppodesly chilled about the whole thing and isn't forcing a move. If they don't pay 75m then Guehi stays, and even at this late stage, we still may say no anyway.

Eze I think stays now his release clause has expired.

  9. It's frustrating that we finally have a Manager who looks like he could rise to the very top in the game and we persist with this strategy of throwing away the first month of the season, and often the first half of the season, by waiting until the very end of the window in the hope we can higher quality players become affordable.

Saturday showed we missed a maverick in the front three but the bench was the bigger concern. Despite during last season the lack of quality in the second XI being evident for app to see, we've let nine players leave and have signed three.

We need at least five players (two wing backs, two 10's and a centre back) but I imagine we will end up with two. Another disaster window and the blame once again has to be with Dougie and Parish. Nobody begrudges Joachim Anderson being sold now the facts are out, he's 29 soon and being offered 6m over 6 years, you can grab that bag for 32m Joa. But if he's leaving why wasn't Lacroix or Chalobah ready to be signed as a replacement?

It's absolutely no coincidence that the only time we were in the top five at Christmas was when we were ready to go for the first game of the season.

  10. If you had told me when we signed Jordan Ayew after his relegations for Aston Villa and Swansea that we were going to get six good seasons out of him and we would sell her for 4 times what we paid for him. I genuinely have told you that's a more stupid prediction than Leicester winning the league. Yet here we are.

I think he'd be a good addition for any side in the relegation battle as a squad player. Obviously the fee is a little mental, but there's too much of an emphasis on pacey skillfull young inconsistent wingers with little experience at this level amongst fans when experienced skillfull intelligent grafters like Ayew, Schlupp and Townsend are useful in a more variety of situations.

Why are palace selling him? Gonna cost around the same to replace him with the same or better.

I think overseas we can find players slightly cheaper.

I guess we're trying to sell him because he's 28 and he's not the quickest. I'm a little surprised about it, partly because I thought he was going to be here for 5 or so more years, but also because what he lacks in pace he makes up in other areas. Good distribution, good movement with the ball, he's physical, he's a leader and great at shithousery.

I think he will be a very good signing for Fulham.
