Administrator Stan Posted August 2, 2023 Administrator Posted August 2, 2023 Happy if this comes off. He was quality in League One last season. Think he'd be good for us.
Dave Posted August 2, 2023 Posted August 2, 2023 Interesting. I thought we may hold off a loan move until deadline day so he can be a backup until Olise returns mid/early September, but it would be unfair to hold him back of this opportunity. I was anticipating a move to a mid table team where he can grow as the season progresses. A team expected to gain promotion will be a big challenge for him. He was the golden goose of our academy team that did well 2+ seasons ago. He's quick, skillful and direct. He was better suited as a winger, im not sure if he still is as he he has adapted to cutting inside well in the last two years at both u23 and league one level. He seems to be on a real upward trajectory so he may end up having a positive impact anywhere this season. Last summer he was behind Ebiowei, Plange, Nasciamento, Adaramola in order of players you expect to integrate in the first team. That's certainly not the case anymore. At present he looks at most a year off being integrated.

If he were to move to us it'd be perfect for both parties in terms of position. It's an area we definitely need to improve on, and an area that will definitely be used by Maresca, especially if cutting is a preference. Is Ebiowei the ex-Derby guy? Is he likely to be in first team or sent out on loan too?

We made the mistake of loaning him out to Hull City last season because of the Roseinor connection but he wasn't ever fully integrated.
