He's probably do ok at this level

Is he much better than Owen Coyle? Who was spectacularly bad last season. Both have similar records in the EPL.

Lambert was phenomenally bad at Livingston. He seems to have found his level in the Championship in England.

Apparently he was secpnd choice to Alloa manager Jim Goodwin, who turned down the chance to talk to St Mirren.

Not one of the glamorous names linked with the job, but he did a good job at Hibs (even if they didn't get promoted).

The whole club seems to be on a massive high and have good expectations for next season, whether he can harness this would be crucial for them.

I think it's a logical appointment. He's got a good reputation in Scotland and after Rotherham his reputation here is shot to pieces. It's possibly the best fit to rebuild his reputation at a quick rate.

And he's gone...

Both promoted clubs have appointed managers over the summer and now both are already gone. Quite uncharacteristic for Scottish clubs to sack a manager this quickly.

Seems to be the most common thing mentioned is his poor recruitment. Not least the Jamie Vardy Academy players. Seems they are nowhere near the standard required.

The entire team was awful a few weeks ago at Pittodrie in the League Cup.

Still seems odd to be thoroughly convinced he was the man to lead a few months ago and now they were desperate to dump him.
