Fabián Balbuena is close to joining West Ham. This is a very good under the radar signing, 4 million euros fee. Balbuena is a solid central-back, one of the best in the last few years in brazilian football.

Given the lack of success with South American defenders playing in The Premier League, how do you think he will get on?

Hard to say. He might struggle in the beginning because the pace of brazilian football is much slower and Corinthians is a team that plays a very defensive brand of football, always protecting its defenders. But I think he´s fast enough and also really good on the aerial game, I believe he can thrive in England.

There is risk obvious, but for the price West Ham paid and for the talent Balbuena has, it´s a rreally good gamble to take.

Sixth summer signing now confirmed at the historic London Stadium. I'm actually quite looking forward to seeing if they hit the ground running or are really struggling after ten games.
