  1. i'm listening to mr big with a heavy heart, i just found out today that Pat Torpey had already passed away two months ago :(    mr big is one of my greatest influences and inspirations as a musician.    the hours i've spent playing MR GONE in the drumkit just to instill some discipline in me really helped a lot.  we became a mr.big cover band for a year .. hahayz..... all the memories of mr big as the soundtrack of my teenage years ...... rest in peace Pat ....

Bernie Ecclestone not only looks like a Ballbag but he is one aswell, totally clueless when it comes to bringing in new ideas.

Not that Liberty Media are any different mind, no grid girls and the halo has made me lose so much faith in them, I dread to think what the sport could look like in five years time.

Owners Liberty Media presented more detail on their aims to the teams at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Friday.

A budget cap of around $150m is central to the aim to close up the field, along with more equitable prize money distribution and technical changes.

And there lies the biggest mystery.

From buying injured and average players, to waiting on deadline day to buy 1 full back in a system that is heavily dependent on them.  An average full back I may add to which we already have two average full backs in Alonso and Moses.

On a coaching standpoint, Conte did as much as he could, hence us being 3rd in January. After that he just couldn't be arsed, and we are now 8 points off of 5th. This is what the team truly is without Conte.

i can only guess that the source of Conte's disappointment and disagreement with the Board is maybe just maybe he was promised that he'll have full control of his team, who he wants out and who he wants to take in but the Board wasn't able to deliver on their promise.

  5. as an outsider.      why hasn't the Chelsea Board learned something after that 2nd season of Jose ??   It was a complete breakdown of everything.    Conte came in to iron out everything and positively won the league in his first season, granting he has no other important games like the UCL to deal with.  but still, winning the EPL should have laid the foundation of Conte's reign, but right now all we're hearing and seeing are all negative news; from Conte not satisfied with the spendings in the transfer market, to Cortious wanking too much about going back to spain and all this Hazard nonsense .....

Dave Lombardo would be cool. Or Nick Menza like @bozziovai suggested. Also Gene Hoglan is always a solid choice xD

oh yeah !! facking dave !!!    it would be eddie of the roth era/new album in which he sounds so aggressive, honeybabysweetiebabydoll is the song that came to mind.   bruce with his screams and macho-man robert keeping everyone in check ....

The great Puskas. A professional footballer couldn’t look like him these days and yet, what a footballer!

yeah.  he's the reason why i got into Madrid.     Back in my elementary days, 1988 something, my cousin introduced me to football.   A filipino who loves football is unique at that time haha.   my cousin had a spaniard friend,( my cousin is a vet and the dog of that spaniard is one his patients )  he gave me two books, one about general history of football.    there i learned about dennis law, beckenbauer, bobby moore and more.   The other book was about madrid and it featured puskas.  it was full of pictures of him and the thing that fascinated me most is his hair style coz we had the same hair style and him playing football without messing up his hairdo piqued my interest in him.   my cousin and that spaniard friend of his then told me about the history of madrid and their great players and of course puskas ......

the photo that got stuck in my head is something like this ... but he was wearing the white of madrid with his hairdo all set and a facking brass band in the back ground.    like a mafia boss .......

Because of the recent Death discussion on here, I've gone on a bit of a kick listening to a shitload of them. Bass players in metal are often overlooked... but I think Steve DiGiorgio's a pretty great bassist. If I were to answer my own question re: the supergroup stuff, I'd probably have 3 Death members in it (Gene Hoglan, Di Giorgio, and Chuck) throw in some of Exodus's Gary Holt and... Rob fucking Halford of Judas Priest and I think you've got the potential for a weird yet awesome band.

i've been trying to visualize Rob singing The Philosopher .... that would be a great band :P

Off the top of my head? (it's been a good 7+ years since I truly listened to metal like that). King Diamond's "Abigail". Just a good solid cover very much in keeping with the atmospheric lyrics and feel of the whole album. What's yours?

it would be Pantera's Vulgar Display of Power.      That guy being punched in the face and when you hit play you'll be greeted with the intro of Mouth For War  :P   everything is in place :P

Don't really listen to the metal genres too much nowadays cos they can bring out the OCD in me lol. Guys, you talk about being a "music snob"? I used to be very much one in every sense of the description. For practically all genres of music, truly esoteric ones too. Just as an example I went through a phase where I steadfastly refused to listen to anything that was recorded after the 1920s Just to throw some random names out there: Dock Boggs, Charley Patton, Mississippi John Hurt, Fletcher Henderson etc. etc. etc. etc. ad infinitum. Being a Scorpio, I can be kinda complex: I was a jock, but I was also that guy in the used CD store rummaging and looking for the most esoteric genres and CDs ever. It became exhausting. Unbalanced my life.

Nowadays I'm much more "mainstream", part of my way of blending in I suppose. For example, was just listening to Liam Payne and Rita Ora's "For You" :D :D Surprisingly good effort, as is Taylor Swift's "Style".
Anyone familiar with the Jump Blues genre here? Wynonie Harris one of my favorite artists of them all.

Also can never go wrong with early King Diamond.

    what can i say.   you're unique :P  :P

    here's a thought .....................   what's your fave album cover in metal ???

This is one of the most melodic death metal albums out there. I liken them to the Beatles of death metal :) A metal classic.

Death has become chuck  :(  :(

my fave death album is I.T.P.

the drumline on the main track i.T.P is my favourite of all time.    all hail Gene Hoglan !!!

In honour of Randy Rhoads, who died on this day:

A real guitar hero, even though he only left us with a very limited number of tracks before his untimely death.

when was this released ?? 80 or 81 ??   Randy was way ahead of his generation.   this has got to be one of the most melodic guitar solos of all time ................... let's add the riff of Crazy Train in the mix too  :P  :P
