I think the things that you mentioned was why Klopp wasn't that arsed about losing Coutinho and why he'd rather use the astronomical fee on improving the squad as a whole.

I'll admit when he left I was gutted, it felt like the same old story of us selling our best player just as we were about to stake our claim. To be honest though he wasn't really missed, in fact our results slightly improved, although we were lucky that none of Firmino, Mane and Salah suffered any injuries after he left. There are some theories that Klopp (when agreeing to Coutinhos sale) had in mind that the results wouldn't really be affected but with the funds he could really kick on and improve the squad overall. All hearsay really but that's how it's panned out in the end.

Oh we definitely made the most of the market/situation at the time without doubt.

We made sure the add ons were easily achievable to get the full fee of £146m which suited Barcelona because it buys them more time to pay the fee... 100 appearances etc for example. Anyway fuck it, as Mike says this is a tedious debate.

The add ons were very achievable ones such as CL qualification and a certain number of appearances. The first offer Barcelona put in the add ons were far from achievable such as Coutinho winning the golden boot and him being the first footballer to land on the moon, that sort of thing. Needless to say the first offer was rejected.

Let's not also forget that we lost Emre Can on a free transfer and he needed replacing, which obviously costs money. Another factor is losing Ox for the whole of this season, again, he's another player that needed covering. I don't think Klopp going out and spending the most amount he's ever spent was just Willy nilly spending.

It might just be me because I can't speak for the other pool fans on here but it just seems that people are genuinely fucked off that we have got our shit together and that Klopp has spent a lot of money.

Ok then Totally ignoring my points about City being given oil money not generated by the club and those who spend 100's of millions each and every season. Anyway, not arsed. I'm just a little surprised and amused how many people's feathers all this has ruffled.

He reinvested the Coutinho money into the squad, what do you suggest he did, give it to the owners to put in their piggy bank? Why should he be critiqued for reinvesting money he attained from selling one of his best players? It's not like he's just blowing 100's of millions, season after season like City, United etc is it?

Of course he's spent a lot of money this summer, that's obvious to everyone. My point was that up until now Klopp has spent absolutely bell all, in fact he's made a profit. People seem so hung up on what he's spent recently when in reality all he's done is reinvest the Coutinho money into the squad plus a bit more. Everyone making a massive fuss of our spending this summer is not only funny, it's coming across as bitter as you can get. Chelsea, United and Everton fans seem to be more bothered about us this summer than their own clubs which is weird but wonderful at the same time.

The longest serving player on the pitch on the first day of the season if Klopps trend follows suit. Won't be Lovren because he played in the WC Final and Klopp said that players that went deep into the competition won't be ready.

Why would he lose the captaincy? Klopp has made it clear numerous times that he doesn't give a fuck who wears the armband because he wants everyone to be a leader. When Hendo doesn't play Klopp just gives the armband to the longest serving player. It means very little to him. Regarding losing his place... All the CM's will be rotated and all of them will see plenty of playing time.

He's always like that. By all accounts he's first to arrive at training and last to leave, every single day. He might not be everyone's cup of tea but there's no doubting his professionalism and dedication.
