You were going off a couple of weeks ago when Liverpool lost or drew a game that they were out of the title race "because they were the only team who didn't cheat to get their games called off". You can hardly cry hypocrite now that there's stories about false positives getting a game called off. None of us can prove either way about how genuine any of these outbreaks were or how much clubs may have manipulated the rules.

I'm absolutely sure it's a genuine mistake from whoever does the testing and that Liverpool have done nothing wrong themselves, just to put that on record, but it is worth saying that the probability of one false positive is very, very small, let alone several. You have to assume it was a problem with a batch of tests and how they were processed or something. Although if we're talking about the flow tests it does seem a bit suspect. Ultimately, though, if there was any risk of Liverpool getting exposed for foul play I doubt Klopp is openly talking about this in the media.

I've got no time for Liverpool football club as a club. Klopp is boring twat who moans more than he breates.

I just want some objectivity from the supposed moderator of a forum. This lad constantly goes on about Liverpool, he's never there when it's a manc club. I'm just pointing out the very obvious. Don't call yourself neutral.

  2. Coutinho was one of my favourite players to watch in the Premier League when he was at Liverpool. A better player than Grealish for my money, only issue is whether he's now on a downward trajectory. He also needed a very hardworking midfield around him at Liverpool, do Villa have that?

@The Artful Dodger You, YOU, are the one who says we have been punish for being too honest. Saying we should have tried to get games postponed ourselves because our rivals have done so. Now that we have actually had a covid outbreak & had to close our training ground you are up in arms over it. Make your bloody mind up.

Liverpool have soldiered on so far and I respect that. It makes no odds to this decision though. Liverpool are due to play a second game in the league Cup within a week...either play or your out.

That's what happened to Leyton Orient.

The rules have been posted in this thread. They're very simple to understand. Leyton Orient couldn't fulfill it because there was only a week between the rounds.

And when is Liverpool's next game against Arsenal due...within a week. Its mealy mouthed rubbish. Liverpool have got their way because of who they are.

  5. I know I moan a lot but this deserves a moan.

So work have been sound and let us finish at 1pm, only issue is my train to London is at 15:47. So I get to Lime Street and see if they can change it to an earlier time. I'm expecting a small fee to change it but that's fine. Get there, the Avanti staff can't help me at all, have to call a number. 30 minutes to get through and 'no, you must pay the full £66.00'...I thought this was the time of goodwill and generosity? What a mess our transport is.

    Anyway. Happy New year.

  6. Why are her brothers being interviewed by everyone, rabbiting on about how 'innocent' she is? I don't remember Gary Glitter's family being on sky news telling us about how he's been made a scapegoat of after he was convicted.

People like Epstein, Andrew, Rolf Harris and Saville. How do they get away with it for so long? Why do they only get brought to account in later life?

Power/Money, they role into one. The fear of not being believed is absolutely crucial in keeping the powerful away from justice.

Just look at how how hard it is for women to get a bog standard sexual assault to court. Times it by ten, at least, for someone famous I.e powerful.

    The BBC

A truly obnoxious individual. Irrespective of the veracity of the claims against him (I'm sure we can all make up our minds) choosing the day of justice for a monster to try an exonerate yourself is lowlife behaviour.

  9. The reaction from the British press has been pretty bemusing

    Case in point:

Who is Ghislaine Maxwell? The story of her downfall - BBC News

You'd be mistaken for thinking Maxwell was some poor victim of circumstance, rather than a crucial player in a paedophile sex ring. Yeah, her Dad was a cunt but that shouldn't be the main subtext of your article when she's just been found guilty of what she has done. I'm surprised at that from the BBC.

Think you're being a tad harsh to Stokes. Never forget what he's done for us in the past including Headingley.

Don't forget he's missed most of the year battling mental health, I don't think the Ashes was the best time to come back for him personally but given our predicament, I think he felt he owed it to us to play. He was a shadow of himself unfortunately.

We've not had a decent opener since Cook unfortunately so everytime Root is coming to the crease, we are 1 or 2 down for 20 odd. I don't rate Burns or Hameed at all. They are incapable of seeing off the new ball and rarely put together big scores. Definitely don't put the pressure back on the bowling attack like Trescothick or Strauss would.

Buttler deserves dropping. He's the biggest one for me, a brilliant ODI and T20 star but at test level its not for him. I'd also drop Bairstow. They both survive on their name and because we have no emerging back ups but it's time to drop them from the test equation going forward.

I do think we miss Archer and we've been unlucky to lose him as long as we have, which puts yet more emphasis on Jimmy Anderson who we over rely on. The others like Wood, Woakes etc are majorly inconsistent.

And finally, we miss a good spinner. Giles and Swann carried the flag for the best part of recent years but other than Rashid, we've really struggled to produce top class spin. Leach doesn't have the weapons and he's a specialist. I'd even rate Moheen above him.

That's fair, I was being harsh on Stokes. He's in the top class bracket, all rounders can't be expected to be averaging 50 etc.

Archer was definitely a big miss, he would have caused problems. Other than that, it's just dreadful. Admittedly I'm a snob about shorter forms of cricket but England can't seem to find any balance, and these constant whippings in Australia are just demoralising, for the whole sport because the Ashes is the number 1 spectacle in Test Cricket.

  11. The worst there’s been for England, the team is just shit now. Not even bottlers, just shit.

Root is only top level player left now, if I’m being generous I’d throw in Stokes but I’m not sure he really is that often at test level. Broad and Anderson former greats of course, Anderson can still do it now and then.
