  1. Had Borussia Dortmund at 1/2 on SkyBet. An implied probability of 67% which is probably not far off it’s true value, I think the extended break may have influenced the odds being that big.

Also stumbled on Bet 365’s Bet Builder. I’ve seen people’s ridiculous ones that get shared on social media when a 3500/1 pulls off but I’d never thought of using it but looking at it, you can create some good value for yourself quite easily.

Had one on the Borussia Dortmund v Schalke game of -

Over 2 corners in the match for Dortmund, Over 0 corners in the match for Schalke, Over 0 cards in the match for Dortmund and Over 0 cards in the match for Schalke.

Come out at 2/5, which wasn’t bad. I reckon you can get better odds with minimal tweaks.

    Missed betting though.

  2. Piers Morgan is a vitriolic bellend, whose causing more harm than good with this Robin Hood facade he’s putting on.

I’ve just had This Morning on and you’ve got Schofield asking the Health Secretary “what if you don’t live near a park can they still meet people?”. FFS, are people that thick?

  3. In regards to food shopping, I’ve not had a problem. Think the maximum I’ve waited to get in was about 15 minutes at Tesco. If the queues are ridiculous, I just leave and go back again later. I actually think it’s quite a good way of doing things and find it a better experience than before. Only had one negative experience when there was far too many people in compared to what had become normal but I think they were told/realised as they went very strict again after.

“You can sit in the sun in your local park, you can drive to other destinations, you can even play sports but only with members of your own household,” he said.

“You must obey the rules on social distancing, and to enforce those rules we will increase the fines for the small minority who break them.”

How are they going to enforce that then??? The first sunny weekend we get parks and beaches will be inundated with people.. It has been bad enough with people having a relaxed attitude toward it but now it's going to be a free for all...

That bit was utterly bizarre and for something that was scripted and recorded, I'm astounded that nobody has gone "what the fuck does that even mean?" at all during any stage of that.

  5. Got to have been the worst day for any observing of social distancing rules, today. Don’t know about the rest of the country but here the streets were filled with everyone having a street party and all rules went to shit, almost immediately, even to the point where people who don’t live here were turning up and visiting family. Seen plenty of it on social media, too.

Big day today, I get that, but it seems this generation are willing to give up their lives to have a couple of Stella’s and an overcooked burger to celebrate the heroes that gave their lives so we could have a today.

I think you have a point regarding how some members are treated differently.

My post however was not trying to prove any stereotype or any nonsense of the sort. Honestly, not the intention at all. We have men in their early to mid 20’s posting ridiculous teenage girl stuff that’s all I was getting at, whilst admitting I did the same utterly petty shite.

You may want to consider choosing another forum if you’re unhappy?

Peoples genders has no bearing on what they post.

Just trying to say we have adults acting like school children. Completely relevant when we read DDW’s posts, some of Brian’s. I was actually agreeing with you but thanks for the attack. Miserable lad aren’t ya!

Miserable for calling out shite, old stereotypes?

Yes. I do think Teso deserved to go, though.

I have been a member of these forums since 2000 and fucking 4. I was incredibly stupid for many years with my posts and my own feuds (I used to dislike Chris and Berserker - they’re incredibly sound to me now!!), I would like to think I grew out of that quickly. I joined as a 15 year old. Some of these people still posting stupid fucking shit and getting wound up far too easily aren’t 15, they’re supposedly grown men. That’s the crazy part for me.

Cool story but not relevant or even actually worth typing out. The old “your a man” shite that actually harms more than it helps.

I don't know if that's fair on the staff, tbh. Obviously, I'm a bit biased as I'm a mod now - but I don't think that's really a fair interpretation of how that ban for Teso unfolded. And for the record, Marc wasn't banned - just suspended. His suspension is up, he's free to post here whenever (so long as he's not breaking the rules).

I can't speak for the Cannabis stuff - I wasn't a mod, I don't know the full backstory or however that long.

As for the Teso ban, I wouldn't say anyone made an easy or quick decision. Despite him being a habitual rule breaker that refused to play nicely with certain members despite several warnings over the years, he was the one who sort of forced our hand by making an insane private message with the person he was threatening... and literally every single mod and admin on here. It wasn't something anyone I wanted to do, in fact I'm pretty sure every member of staff was pretty annoyed he'd done something that couldn't really just be wiped away with another warning that would likely be ignored.

Because no matter how you slice it, what he did was something that wasn't something that could really be warned away and he'd literally just shown that a suspension wouldn't change his behavior (because he just returned from a suspension), even if he "wasn't serious" with his threat.

I’m not really arsed what exactly he did to push over the line to get banned more the difference in how some members are treated in comparison to others. Which was undeniable. There was and dare I say, probably still is, a clique amongst some here.

DIAHF has always been used jokingly.

What Teso had said/done went beyond that I'm afraid.

What went on in the end with Cannabis as well was partly a staff decision too, not necessarily that he just left :what:

It’s just interesting at the length of time it takes for decisions to be made about some posters compared to some others.

    Marc & Teso.

Teso literally threatened to kill another member on the site. Not sure what was unfair about that ban if I do say so myself.

Pretty sure “DIAHF” has been used as an insult to members on here and the old place. Just face didn’t fit. Unlike Cannabis’.

  12. Can’t even remember the old places web address, let alone people that posted on it.

From here, who was the two that got banned? Sure one was a Norwich fan, can’t remember the other. They were banned completely unfairly and it painted the staff in a crap light when they were letting Cannabis act like a bellend for months on end.

Also, Cannabis was an idiot. He seemed to have a Benjamin Button effect about him in that instead of maturing as he got older, he seemed to become more childish and more of an irritant. He’s missed about as much as a blocked nose.

Not willing to wade into a race debate but could it also be to do with his performances on the pitch? Came with a big fanfare and so far hasn't really delivered, whereas Grealish is universally adored at Villa. Same with Walker at Man City, Mount at Chelsea etc. Balotelli was a hell of a player but you did wonder at times what he could have done if he lived for the game and not the lifestyle.

Far too premature into the lads career to be making those assumptions, for me. Stinks of lazy journalism and racism to me and nothing more.

He’s a lad that turned twenty a couple of months ago living in the UK in his first season in the Premier League. As far as I’m aware there were no previous worries about his attitude or off field behaviour prior to joining Everton, so comparisons to Balotelli, at this stage, are beyond premature.

  14. 17 minutes ago, Dr. Gonzo said:

Well and getting in the papers for doing shite like this. I can understand why Everton and Everton fans would be annoyed by a young player they’ve been patient with but hasn’t really done anything of note making the news for blatantly breaking public health guidelines.

But yeah I assume it’s racist because aside from the kid doing something stupid, he’s a black Italian football prospect.

I do think Moise Kean’s more just a kid being stupid than a full blown dickhead like Balotelli though

The only comparisons at this stage are their nationality and skin colour. He never drew any comparisons to Jack Grealish, who is a similar age and recently, done a similar thing. It’s not as though he’s a bit of a dickhead normally and is usually doing stupid stuff, this is genuinely the first I’ve heard of Kean doing anything away from the pitch.

True. You think with all the players they have over the years (maybe not recently and more yesteryear) and the huge stadium (with fans that would almost be rejuvenated just to have Ashley out the club) they could once again become an attractive proposition. They definitely need to be careful regardless.

It’s also not like it was ten-fifteen years ago, players are now paid more than they’ve ever been paid so if they really want to go home to mainland Europe over the weekend, flights are more accessible and these tossers can just book a private plane anyway.

I think slightly better than that. More like Everton. Spend lots (maybe more), not really get anywhere.

Think from the outset for any club even if they have copious amounts of money is to have a strategy and structure in place for the next few years. Get rid of any deadwood, and don't buy players and spend fuckloads to make a statement just because you have the money. Buy players that fit that strategy/philosophy with the money you have so that you avoid being like a QPR.

You’ve always had managers moaning that it’s hard to attract players to the North East. I’m not sure if it’s an excuse towards why their recruitment has been so bad, which it definitely was at Sunderland for years on end and has been at times with Newcastle. It does seem lazy but it could have some merit to it.

With that in mind and what you said, I think Newcastle need to be careful with how they go about their business in order to not be hoodwinked into paying an extra £10-20k a week to a player just to get him out of the clutches of an Everton or West Ham and certainly not just throw money at a load of players without a plan in mind.
